Were told that search and rescue teams will be working in the avalanche area. And this from the caltrans cameras near the entrance to Alpine Meadows resort. You can see the roads are mostly clear. For the most part they are. Kind of some slushy conditions and good access for the rescue teams. An avalanche in the sierra this morning. Several victims are unaccounted for. This happening at the Alpine Meadows resort. You might remember a deadly avalanche in 1982 killed seven people there at alpine. Im allen martin. Now back to you. And Current Conditions at Alpine Meadows. And in the last 24 hours, 25 inches of snow. We did have a winter storm warning in effect for this area this morning because of the winter storm that dumped a lot of snow in the sierra. And that snow depth at the top of Alpine Meadows. 108inches of powder there. So now lets show you our snowpack for the sierra. So looking at 83 of average month to date. And the snowfall for the south sierra, 81 of average. The snowpack on average, 82 . And well continue to monitor this situation as it comes available to us. Our other top story, House Speaker nancy pelosi back in the bay area one day after the pretrial phase of the impeachment trial began. The chp says a wrongway driver was killed in campbell. The driver was going southbound in the northbound lanes of highway 17. Sonoma county supervisors held a meeting to discuss the homeless plan. The meeting began with an apology saying theres no more space to accommodate more people. A couple days ago. Supervisors decided to temporarily relocate 200 Homeless People living in encampments. The location for the temporary shelter is 8miles to the east at a juvenile justice campus.
