They are setting up what is basically a mash type unit for less severe and recovering patients who may be homeless or do not have a safe place to stay until they get better. The mission of this medical have the capacity to take care of our sickest patients. Major medical centers and hospitals have geared upper weeks to handle their own expected surge of critical cases with specialized equipment like ventilators. This unit wont have that level of acute care. The patients who are covid 19 positive but are well enough to leave the hospital but dont have an otherwise safe place to return could come here. Reporter the unit will be staffed with a volunteer corps of nurses, doctors, and paramedics as well as Mental Health and social workers. The patients who, likely settle infra lengthy stay.
