I think when she was told that she was positive she thought they were saying you are going to die. It was a scary time. Reporter doris said she was having none of that. I started asking if i was dying. I said no im not going to. Reporter she never needed a ventilator but she stayed focused on her breathing. Five days later doctors said she could go home and quarantine. When i came home i was really week. Eventually day by day, bit by bit, i began to recover. Here i am. Reporter word you think she gets her strength . I dont know. I wish i had half of it. I think she has always been that way, just a tough woman. She ran the la food bank for 15 years, shes used to getting things done. I think she is used to not taking no for an answer.
