Because its been like a tail of two different rain makers, depending on where you are. Here are the rainfall totals for where a lot of us are, like santa rosa, got a quarter inch of rain. San jose has only gotten. 03 of an inch of rain. That is one story of the rain. Now im going to show you whats happened in the mountains. A totally different story. Mount tam has gotten over an inch and a quarter so far. Ben lowman, thats the peak up above the community got almost an inch. Where the radar sits from the
National Weather<\/a> service picked up about an inch. For most of us, it was a quiet day. But it has been a good rain maker for the bay area as a whole in the mountains. And now, were not done. The ones we were just looking at in front of our lens on the

Were about to enter the second phase of what this storm has in store for us. You can see the big circulation out here shows up a lot better on the water vapor. Theres the center of this storm. Build you get the coldest air, you can also build storms the highest. And thats where the thunderstorms are. If we look at it on the future cast, look at all these dots out here, those are all scattered thunderstorms that are going to get rotated into the bay area. That gets us into the 2 00 hour tomorrow. These will come with perhaps heavier rain, but theyll be more isolated, and they wont last as long, so you get brief heavier bands that come through. The best of it likely comes through in the predawn hours. But monday afternoon, theres the possibility for isolated showers. Some of these as thunderstorms throughout the day on monday. Notice how there arent a lot of them. If you happen to get one right over you, its a good little show. Which is why were not done with the rain story here. Well go back down into the low and mid50s overnight tonight, under somewhat damp conditions. Daytime highs tomorrow, were going to struggle to get out of the 60s.
