The worst we are dealing with is fog and cooler temperatures. Cooler temperatures in august, not really something inland portions of the bay area can complain about at all, little break for the ac and electric bill for a day, maybe two at the most. We are going to see changes through the next couple of days. Its been a much deeper marine layer today. It moved further inland and its a very stubbornly refused to erode very much at all throughout the day. Lets switch over to the up close satellite perspective. All of that grandly indicates the cloud cover and fog that has been stuck in place. Parts of the bay area did the sunshine breaking through. San jose saw a mix of clouds and sun. Much of the north mostly sunny skies. Where this guys did clear, that fog will be rolling back inland through tonight, even complete with some mist and drizzle once again. Right now temperatures are usual mix of 60s, 70s and 80s. Usually we have one spot in the 60s and a bunch of 70s and mostly 80s in august, sometimes even 90s. But today, mostly 60s. At 62 degrees downtown, 64 in livermore and 66 in oakland, 67 in san jose where the clouds have filled back in. 81 in santa rosa, the warm spot with the sunshine. Even as the sun has broken through we are just at 70 and you can see the fog across the bay. It will thicken up through this evening. Those temperatures are several degrees cooler than where they were 24 hours ago, especially for far portions of the east bay. 8 to 12 degrees cooler, but everybody a degree or two cooler than where we were this time on tuesday. Temperatures tonight dropping out of the mid to upper 50s in most locations. The blanket of clouds keeps everyone on an even playing field. Through the day tomorrow the winds will change direction just a little bit. That authenticate the wind direction and for just a little while in the city the wind will swivel around to the south and southeast. Thats not an onshore direction anymore. While it will switch back to an onshore wind very quickly, it will pick up to about 15 to 20 miles an hour and that small timer we have offshore wind. It will help the fog and low cloud cover back up toward the coast much more quickly than what we saw today. But in the meantime, still the clouds, the mist, the drizzle, especially along the coast and some of the hills further inland, some of the east bay hills especially seeing if you hundredths of an inch of moisture and early tomorrow morning. And watch the gray disappear from the map, except right along the coast, maybe an hour or two of sunshine along the coast on thursday, then the fog does its usual backandforth thing thursday night into friday. It will not be as widespread or stubborn, just a normal summertime pattern. Even a little bit of clearing along the coast by friday afternoon. Temperatures tomorrow upper 60s and low 70s across the bay, little warmer towards the south end, close to 80 degrees for thE Santa Clara valley, the warmer spots on the map will be in the north they were easy plenty of sunshine again and further inland in the east bay where he will be back closer to whats normal for this time of year. And the warming trend will continue into the weekend. Back into the upper 80s, close to 90 degrees, some of the very warmest inland spots will hit the low 90 saturday and sunday, but upper 60s and low 70s around the bay and mid60s along the coast with a bit more sunshine breaking through whats going to be some fog every morning, which is typical for this time of year. Then back into a slightly cool weather pattern in the next week, maybe a brief little break for airconditioning units around the bay area once again. Coming up, just your typical summer day at San Franciscos harding park. Golf best are ready to try and real in the championship trophy.
