The black woman whose death has sparked nationwide outrage. The 26yearold was shot in her apartment as lease reserving a drug warrant. Her boyfriend says he believes the police were intruders. He fired a single shot and Police Returned Fire hitting taylor six times. Todays announcement sparked protests in dozens of cities across the country. Despite the citys new curfew to curb violence and vandalism, and the governors order for the state National Guard to protect the citys infrastructure. But just after 8 30 Police Confirmed that two louisville metro officers responding to the civil unrest were shot. They were expected to survive. The hotel is family and attorney expressed their outrage over the grand jurys decision to charge only fired officer brett hankinson. It is so insulting, that you would say that the neighbors lives mattered more than Breonna Taylors life. Justice is not often easy. It does not fit the mold of Public Opinion and it does not conform to shifting standards. It answers only to the facts and the law. Breonna taylors cousin says they are not surprised by the decision but hoped for a different outcome. We have been grieving since day one, its like a wound that has never healed. Police arrested a suspect in the shooting of those two officers tonight. Meanwhile the fbi is doing its own investigation into the shooting of Breonna Taylor. Here in the bay area one of the largest protests was in oakland this evening with demonstrators filling roadways and blocking intersections. Andrea nakano continues our Team Coverage. Reporter the crowd has not been as large as past protests but the city of oakland is saying tonight that it is expecting more demonstrations over the next few days. The protesters say they are not surprised by the lack of charges in Breonna Taylors case but they are still outraged. Roughly a couple hundred protesters chanting tonight at the lake merritt amphitheater. There is just no justice for my people, that is just the truth. We got to and white silence and stand up for our Black Brothers and sisters. These protesters marched to city hall directing lasers to the chopper above and our photographer. They also shut down intersections along the way as they demanded justice for Breonna Taylor. I wasnt surprised. I dont have a very high expectation of justice in this country. According to the retired superior court judge, justice is really served when a grand jury is involved in cases of police shootings. The saying is a prosecutor can get a ham sandwich indicted if the prosecutor wanted to because it is really the prosecutors to play with. In my view the grand jury is anything but grand. Tonight families who have lost once to Police Violence show their solidarity. To show the spotlight on those lives lost. When we can show that this is not an isolated situation, when we bring all these families together, it is undeniable what is happening when it comes to Police Murder in this country. Protesters are not gathered outside the Oakland Police department and they will continue to facilitate peaceful protest for social injustice. More than 100 protesters also marking through San Franciscos Mission district closing down part of 17th street. Police lined up in riot gear along the Police Station but there did not appear to be many major confrontations with Police Officers. And protesters also gathering outside of san joses city hall. At one point tonight the crowd swelled to a couple hundred people with demonstrators chanting black pride and black power, demanding that leaders be held accountable. The upper level winds will continue shifting and we will see more smoke flowing down towards us as we head into saturday, and all of this blowing off the creek fire will eventually be sent towards others by sunday. And those winds will be transporting more of that smoke toward us on monday. This is when we will be at the peak of the heat with temperatures inland at around 100 degrees. It remains to be seen how much will filter down towards ground level. I will plan on deterioration in air quality conditions as we head into sunday and monday. But for now, things are still nice. Temperatures are in the 60s across the board, tomorrow morning we will wake up with some locally dense fog around the bay, but it will back up towards the bay rather gradually, clearing out inland by late morning but still reduced visibility around the bay and the coast. That improves as we head into tomorrow afternoon. The sunshine will break through, including in alameda. Temperatures up into the mid 70s for highs on the east side of the bay but probably upper 60s for the west side of the bay and towards the coast.
