Pg e already talking about the Public Safety shut off you know there are onshore winds coming. There were two big changes that we should be aware of. Today was fantastic and its not staying like this. First, look at the forecast for temperatures. We were at 83 degrees and then today for the daytime hybrid average would be in the upper 70s, right around 77. If we look at what happens over the next five days, look at how those numbers jump. Mid90s, in other words that we will be 18, close to 20 degrees above average for this time of its going to get a lot hotter again and it will feel like you felt over the past couple of weeks. But the other thing is the wind and that is where the fire weather concerns come in. I will play the sport from tuesday night into wednesday because that is when the troubles show up. Look at these bright colors that just lit up the map. You can see the streamlines youre showing us the direction of the wind coming from the north and going out in the bay here. Those are offshore wind. The brighter the color, the stronger the wind. We set could see gusts into the 30 and 40 mileperhour area. That brings that the concerns we have been living with the last couple weeks. A reminder as nice as today was, we are still at the peak of fire season. I will go into more detail with this and how long it will last in the sevenday coming up for a few more minutes. Juliet, now over to you. Happened around 11 30 last night in the upper market area. Investigators say it started when a man tried to carjack a person with a knife. Officers tracked him down about a block away. He was shot and killed a short time later. So far, police have not said why. It speaks to a level of desperation. Today, twitter flagged the president s tweet saying it violated the rules about spreading misleading and false, potentially harmful information related to covid19. Most people understand and believe that immunity from a product, like for general example, any convalescent ree we also dont know how long Natural Immunity will last. Reporter medical experts agree immunity is something we dont know a lot about. I think there is a general assumption and it may well be true, that the antibodies will protect you against reinfection with the virus for some period of time. That could be weeks or months, maybe years, maybe its lifetime. But we dont really have enough information yet to know. Reporter the cdc specifically cautioned people not to assume they are immune since it has not yet been established. I think many of us are worried that people not protecting themselves after covid because i think they will be invincible, that it will be a passport. But its not true. Reporter the president today again boasted about his handling of the coronavirus. We lost 200,000 and, you know, there are those that say we did a phenomenal job. Reporter a new trackerpoll found that likely voters in michigan, nevada, and iowa, think former Vice President joe biden would better handle the outbreak and majorities of likely voters in all three states say President Trump handled contracting the virus irresponsibly. If donald trump were my patient i would tell him to be isolated for 20 days. Not just because of optics or politics or anything, but just as a patient because he had more serious disease. The Oakley City Council has a meeting this week to try to figure out how to respond to the Fire Department. Is not a coincidence, we are going a story of a Fire Department to darren peck. Fire weather here wednesday, this has to be the headline of this forecast. But first, the date that was. Look at the daytime highs for todays one of the nicest days we have had around here for quite some time. Maybe the past couple months actually. 83 in concord, 77 in oakland and 72 in San Francisco. I will take these numbers now and you some of the representative locations on here as examples of what is going to happen across the bay and show you how the daytime highs are going to progress from here because its quite a dramatic change from where we were today. 83 was a daytime high in concord today on sunday. A height by thursday and you can see the average up there is actually 77. We are coming in well above that. Lets see for something say. 80 today in san jose. It will be 91 by the middle of the week. And just to come into the more immediate they, only 77 today. We go up another 10 degrees by thursday. That is only one part of the story of this change are the other part is the offshore wind and the fire weather concerns that will come along with that by the time we get to wednesday and thursday. This was this afternoon. One of the first days in a long time where it was beautifully clear overhead. If you look at the pacific, the reason why we got this big area of nothing, if i put on the streamlines, see the clockwise circulation there, that is what is going to drive our offshore wind. The closer that gets to us, the more we will feel the wind. Watch what happens, i will play as from tonight into wednesday for now the center of it is ov reach over into california and start driving those northerly winds down through the valley and towards the bay area. This is the set up for wednesday. Again, watch what happens as we get into early thursday. Right now that could be the peak. Those are about 40 mileper hour gusts streaming over the mountains of the north bay. Its not just the wind speeds in a situation like that of course, its also the very low humidities as we get into thursday afternoon we are looking once again at relative humidity is that are really low and there is no red plaid warning yet, that is issued by the National Weather service. If that stays the way it looks, they will likely have to issue one totally separate from the Public Safety power shutoffs. Pg e does those. The red plaid warnings come from the National Weather service. We should have good air quality tomorrow and thats good. As far as the temperatures go, as we watched the smoke forecast, maybe a little bit of smoke drifting away but not too significant. The to upper 50s tomorrow morning. Daytime highs for everyone, i know ice highlighted some of the headlines but we will go to 80 in santa rosa tomorrow, 80 in fremont. This story is pretty much the same but as you look past it next weekend the numbers start to come down a bit. Thheinto come p at the peak of likely on thursday and friday with the offshore winds. That is where the forecast ends for now. Back to you. Northern california researcher enlisting mans best friend to sniff out new cases of coronavirus. I am dennis and all it.
