Reporter yeah, liz the Solano CountyPublic Health officer is telling me tonight that the person infected with both under the age of 65 and is in fairly good health. This person works in the Health Care Sector but thats not where the doctor believes the transmission occurred. There is basically a warning to us that we have flu in the community as well as covid. The first case of coinfection has occurred in Solano County. And it happened because the patient didnt follow proper social distancing guidelines. This person to the best of our knowledge did not acquire it in the workplace, they did what so many other people all over the country are doing. They get together with family and friends and let their guard down, more than 90 of covid infections are occurring in Solano County. And the gatherings put the county on the brink of falling back into the purple tier for widespread risk. Were suggesting that when people get together with family and friends, use common sense, and take responsibility for your actions, dont go to a gathering if youre sick,. Some residents say it was only a matter of time until the flu and covid started circulating in the community. I knew the flu was coming. But its always going to be here no matter what. Doctors are usualing people to get the vaccine, since some of the symptoms of the flu and covid mirror each other, the doctor says quarantine until you know what you have. The recommendation is if you have symptoms, dont go to work, dont go to events, get tested first so that you know what you have is not going to harm other people. As for how the fire got started we know in some similar drainage systems around town, there are people that are occupying those for shelter. That is a concern of ours, at this point, we havent been able to confirm that there was anybody in there prior to the fire or during it. Thats the first thing the search team will be looking for tomorrow as soon as its safe to go under ground, theyll also collect for hot spots and assess the extent of the damage.
