A lot of polling places are very busy right now. They are starting to process the early votes as well as they have been in florida because the law allows that. We are going to see Elections Officials have those results set up very early. Get those results as soon as the polls close tonight. As of monday, 97 million americans nationwide had voted. Lets go right now to North Carolina. This is raleigh, North Carolina. This state is up in the area cording to a lot of polls. You can see some of the voters there filing into cast their votes. The North Carolina state board of elections said that it appear advertise pates the results reported by the end of tonight will include 97 or more of all ballots. Health Officials Say its an easy way to stay safe in to the winter sick season. Staying well also means you need to be safe in your voting and after voting activities. So Health Officials are urging you to wear a mask, to stay six feet apart and to use Hand Sanitizer before and after you vote. In fact the cdc said that you can bring your own ball point pen or stylus. Those precautions also stretch into what happens post election day. Im very nervous. I dont know what will happen. New this morning San Carlos Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a 34 victim at gun point just after midnight. The suspect reportedly told the victim he had come back to hurt him if police were called. The suspect is described as a 40yearold male, approximately 511 in height with a plaque baseball cap. He took off with an apple watch, jewelry and the victims wallet. Developing this morning a San Francisco firefighter is in the hospital after an accident left him critically injured. Matt van responded to a high rise fire on spear street yesterday. Authorities say that van was outside the building when a muni bus drove through the area. Thats when van was hit by a hose line, fell to the ground and hit his head knocking him unconscious. No passengers were in the bus at the time of the accident and no word if the muni bus struck the hose. An investigation is underway. The incident less than a month after the death of San Francisco firefighter paramedic jason cortes. A courts has granted Santa Clara County a temporary restraining order against a church. According to the das office the church has been hosting weekly Indoor Services for as many as 600 people. Many without masks and little social distancing. The Health Mandate limits capacity to 25 or to 100 people. . A statement the Council James williams said the county supports the right to worship and the Health Orders create a pathway for religious institutions to do so in a safer manner that helps protect the communitys well being during a pandemic. The district said january 5th is the goal but for that to happen santa clara must maintain its place in the orange tier. Family also still have the option to continue distance learning. To alameda some parents say they are ready to fight to keep their kids school open. Parents gathered outside graham elementary yesterday. Folks we talked to said they were blind sided and were not given a chance to save their school. Those backing the decision to close the school say that graham lacked diversity. Roughly 70 of students are hispanic. If Graham School closes that means that our students have to distribute into three different schools. You are talking about a community that is already under privileged and disadvantaged. How is that being equal . We reached out to the superintendent and the School Board Member on the Closure Committee and have yet to hear back. They are expected to hear the proposal thursday and take a vote november 19th. More than half of voters here in california sent in their ballots and early votings and we are seeing high turn out around the country. What does that say about this Election Year . Well it says people are take advantage of the systems put in place and letting them vote differently and vote safely. Either from the comfort of their home or at least, you know in the days leading up to election day. I love how california does it. You give each other a bar code to know when your ballot was sent back in just like you can track a package. Thats how it should be done across the country. Hopefully the 49 others will learn from california and maybe adopt that in the future. The turn out we have seen across the country indicating really eager americans, wanting to get out and participate in what has been of course a pretty difficult election season. We expect a long night from here in new york as we track results across the country. Yeah. You are right. California makes it easy. No excuse not to vote. The big question everybody has right now, what are the chances we will have a clear winner tonight . What happens if its close which could happen. Right. There are ways to think that this could go early tonight. Keep an eye on three key states in the southeast. Florida, georgia and North Carolina. Its been 20 years since the 2000 recount but they finally figured out how to count quickly. Partly because they can start processing the millions of early ballots they got in the mail before today. In essence is he this essentially start that count and announce most of it really right as the polls close. Georgia, North Carolina, two other southern states. They are also good at counting. If all of those go one way or the other, that is potentially a signal of who will get to 270 first throughout the night. Other surprises to watch, the big states like pennsylvania, ohio where the Biden Campaign has spent a notable amount of time. They must be seeing something in their own poll that suggests they have a chance of winning. You Something Like florida and ohio away from donald trump he is a one term president. Those are pictures i can start saving that i dont have anymore. These free photograph shoots have been offered to several fire victim families. Making new memories.
