And at this whole foods in San Francisco, paper towels were going fast. I think its ridiculous. If we are you know, that is what we are after, toilet paper . I think people are panic because there is a rumor going around that there might be another shutdown. Magdalena did not get her hands on any such supplies this evening. She is still working with the items you bought in bulk a few months ago. In different parts of the country from Southern California to chicago where there is a stayathome order in effect, people are hoarding toilet paper and groceries. The supply should be into full there is no need to overbuy. The California Grocers Association says supermarkets are well repaired for thanksgiving shoppers. But to help prevent the spread of the virus shoppers should consider visiting stores during offpeak hours, utilize Online Shopping and avoid stores a few days before thanksgiving altogether. Cross over the bay, so we will see waves of moisture moving in as we head through the rest of tonight and early tomorrow morning. Reporter the shooting happened here on the sidewalk in front of the westfield mall just after 5 00 today. Police were called to a fight and when they arrived they encountered a man with a knife. He had a pretty big knife, walking around, waving it around. Witness ezra ortiz is the man with the knife was acting erratically, refusing to obey Police Orders to put the weapon down. The cops just try to seclude him and get him away from the public people, they got him secluded and got him to stop moving. He was still being sporadic, and he wasnt following directions and unfortunately they fired on him tonight. Ezra took this video as police surrounded the man. He just stopped recording just as he heard a loud bang. Something said bam, bam, bam, bam. An ambulance rushed him into the hospital and investigator say several different weapons were used. Officers fired less lethal rounds, shift deputies use a taser and at least one officer filed his service revolver. Police say it is not clear which weapons were used in what order and or how many officers fired weapons. We know that an officer involved shooting occurred. The timeframe of when weapons were used and what time during the contact are all under investigation. We are told the man survived the shooting and was taken to the hospital. No word on his condition tonight. Knew at 11 come in less than an hour Alameda County drops back into the purple tear. Many businesses like gyms will be forced to close again. Andrea nakano is in alameda where a gym that has been around for decades may now be shut down for good. Reporter starting at midnight gyms like this one will no longer be able to open their doors in Alameda County. The Mariner Square Athletic Club was hoping to celebrate its 40th anniversary in february. Over the last six weeks theyve seen signs of hope that this business can survive until this latest blow. For the south bay, mainly tanya the santa clara county. Where we are still seeing some showers. Showers in the Santa Cruz Mountains and the diablo range. We are tracking another line of showers making its way into the vicinity of marin county and farther down the peninsula as well. This will cross the bay and make its way inland as we crossed through tonight. With another band of showers lining up after that. They dont last very long but they do add up, more and more. This one is still making its way across the bay area as we head into the early hours of wednesday morning. That goes off to the east and then another more substantial area of rain looks like it will be moving into the north bay right as the sun is coming up here that will make its way into the same direction from northwest to southeast across the bay area through wednesday morning. The best rain chance, morning into the early afternoon hours, and then that activities lies off to the east and southeast. By 3 00 we are down to some lingering clouds. Largely dried out by tomorrow evening. One more chance for maybe a couple of little showers making their way into the north bay before the sun comes up on thursday. Total additional rain on top of what weve already seen, not a whole lot but we will take what we can get. A few hundredths of an inch in san jose to maybe quarter of an inch or so at Half Moon Bay and maybe a little more than that in parts of the north bay. The other issue is file, reduced visibility where it is not raining will still be an issue as we head through the rest of the night temperatures in the mid to upper 50s right now, but those numbers dont change very much at all the rest of the night. Dog walking weather does not look great for poor roscoe here. You wont see much sunshine tomorrow, temperatures only warming up to around 60 degrees, best chance of showers early in the day. Leave a towel by the door to wipe off those paws and bellies. Low to mid 60s for highs tomorrow, which will feel cool with the lack of sunshine. But almost exactly normal for this time of the year. Temperatures should warm up a little bit as we head into the first half of the weekend, with dry weather starting on thursday and last until the first couple of days of next week.
