Downpour in the desert turns burning man into a mess. This morning tens of thousands of festival attendees are stranded in the desert and more rain is on the way. It is pretty bad. There is little butterflies. A scare late last night at lax. A suspicious package gets a response from the bomb squad. A San Francisco caf÷ reopens for business after the owner says lawlessness in the city forced her to shut down. Good morning is start thank you for starting your day with us we begin in the nevada desert. Tens of thousands of people are stranded at burning man. Heavy rain and flooding has turned the festival into a soggy mess. People are sheltering in place as roads in and out of the area are closed and more rain is expected to fall today. According to the Pershing County Sheriffs Office, a person has died but they have not released any more information about the circumstances. Is annual event attracts people from all over the world including people from right here in the bay area. There is music, arts and Community Events during this week long counterculture festival. Police at lax city i was found in the tom bradley terminal at about 9 40 p. M. A bomb squad was called in to assess the item. About an hour and a half later at 11 00 authorities determine the scene was safe and they started to repopulate the area. It is not clear exactly what this item was that prompted the investigation. A black chevy suv was stopped on the right shoulder of the freeway and it appeared to have bullet holes and looks abandoned. The chp closed off the westbound lanes of 580 for several hours to investigate. They say a car traveling in the eastbound lanes was also hit by a stray bullet but luckily nobody was hurt.
