Reporter her time working in the Northern California Coastal Region lets her work in San Francisco but has always sent her across the country to serve those in need. I feel like i fell in love with the people and i fell in love with the fact that i could help at any time i wanted. Reporter she started volunteering in 2002 after 9 11 inspired her to get more involved and do more for her country. One of the first tasks caro took on was helping families connect with each other over the phone using her skills as a spanish speaker. Three years later she would be part of the team from our area to respond to hurricane katrina. It was a lifechanging experience. At first, i was a bit you know, scared. But then later as i got to meet my fellow volunteers it became extremely reregarding. Reporter she keeps up her volunteer work with the red cross because of the flexibility and the impact it can have in the community. Reporter caro says theres likely a role for you that works with rain shower schedule. Please give it a try. Come. Volunteer, talk to us. Just go out and do it and you might be able to help someone. This is making me feel much better than that first live look we showed you just about ten minutes ago. You are looking over towards the bay bridge which you can see beautifully. But i got to say this, darren, you know, throughout yesterday it got a little windy and i felt it this morning heading out the door as well. Anywhere near the coast, yeah, Golden Gate Bridge, on shore breeze is going to make it feel that way certainly through the afternoon. And gianna, over the next two mornings on that drive in, because i know shes coming from like coast side, you could get some light mist out of this stuff. The cloud deck today is fairly high so we probably wont really get much mist out of this this morning at all. But its possible over the next 24 hours maybe tomorrow. And it wouldnt even necessarily have to happen in the morning because the marine layer that were seeing out here today is getting a little bit of help. Like an assist and ill show you what i mean from that. Bottom line is today is going to be cloudy through the morning and breaks of blue sky in the afternoon but you are going to be ten degrees cooler today than you were yesterday and thats going to be a noticeable difference and were pretty much staying here in terms of temperatures, like right around 70 for the rest of the week and probably be looking at clouds certainly through the morning like this and then maybe a little more by friday as another system comes in. You see how widespread the marine layer is right now . Heres what i meant by its getting an assist. A wider view on this you can see theres this beautifully wound up area of low pressure sitting right off the coast. And so what that has done is its built up the marine layer a little more. And its been able to push on shore a little more and this is why it was breezy like gianna was talking about through much of yesterday afternoon. And this morning and its also why we might even get a little bit of rain. Look what this thing does. Counterclockwise spin out there. Pulls in a few light showers and not just a morning thing. This could happen even in the afternoon through today and again on wednesday as we watch that system kind of falling apart out there. So what this really does to temperatures if we use the virtual map for that, and we have to say goodbye to the 80s for now and pretty much going to stay right here. When you look at the numbers at least through like wednesday it might get a little bit warmer as we approach next weekend. Because thats already starting to show up in the 7 day forecast. And you will see the temperatures start to rebound a little bit as we get towards the weekend. But certainly not through thursday. Because theres a weak little weather system coming our way thats going to bring us some rain. So lets go out for the wider view and find that change. Its getting here late week next system, very unimpressive. Especially in comparison to what we were living with over the course of the winter. But were now starting to see some of the High Resolution imagery to give us an idea of what the rain might look like thursday night into friday. As we look at friday morning, watch what happens in the somewhat longer range forecast. Just a few light blips of green show up here so that would be more than just the marine layer mist that will get along the coast. And in the hills over the next few days. Friday is actually its own weak little weather system that might be able to deliver some rain even to some inland parts of the bay. All right, lets get into this 7 day forecast now. And you will see what i was talking about that warmup back here by the weekend. So even for inland parts of the bay, back up to the mid and upper 70s by then. But a drop of rain likely by friday morning. Gianna . The drive is doing okay overall as far as the volume of traffic on the freeways. So thats pretty helpful but what one thing you do need to keep in mind is the fact that there are some pretty windy conditions out there as darren just said. We have wind advisories in effect on some of the freeways. And bridges that includes the benicia, martinez bridge. So a little gusty through there. Also through Alameda County and wind advisory issued by chp through solano and parts of Contra Costa County. So just a little bit extra caution on the roadways maybe leave a few minutes earlier than usual and look at the delays already as you head into the Altamont Pass for supercommuters. Down to about 11 Miles Per Hour in some spots. So pretty slow ride as you head westbound through there. And its windy also in that area. But as far as the delays go, 53 minutes, 205 over to 680. Thumbs up on 80, highway 4 and 101 really other than that Altamont Pass commute and the wind, Everything Else is pretty calm and quiet out there. But not this. Check this out, this was an unusual roundup in orinda. Looks like a western movie or a scene out of the paramount hit show yellowstone but this is real life and thats a cowboy on a horse in traffic trying to wrangle a herd of cows that ended up crossing the highway. Now this was on highway 24 yesterday afternoon. Apparently a gate came unlocked and the ranchers sprang into action. You sent me the
