Tiffany. tiffany this crash happened around 10 30 last night at the solano way off ramp on highway 4 in concord. We have new video just into the newsroom overnight. Police say the person driving this red car died after they rear ended a flat bed truck. Take a look at just how much damage was done to the car. Police say the flat bed truck took off after the crash. They found the truck about a mile away from the scene but they still have not located the driver. There was a lane closure on highway 4 after the crash but the scene has been cleared an all lanes are open this morning. The Contra Costa County board of education has voted to keep the Mount Diablo Unified School district intact. The vote came down just after midnight. More than sixthousand people wanted to break away five schools and form a new northgate unified School District. The new district would be in walnut creek with Northgate High School at the center of it. Parents who want the district to split say they believe it will better serve their communities and test scores. Those who want to keep the district together say the division would be costly for both sides. Despite the vote opposing the district split, the decision will ultimately be made by the state board. mark thanks lydia. A bay area man is sharing his story after he is robbed and shot in the head just outside of a bart station. You can see the large black spot on oscar castenedas head. Its a bullet that has been lodged in there ever since he was robbed in berkeley two and a half weeks ago. He was walking home from the ashby bart station after work when thieves attacked him from behind. Oscar says he did not see the attackers, and didnt know he had been shot until he went to the hospital. He works as a chef at berkeleys comal restaurant. He says he still has pain all over his body, but he hopes to return to work soon. darya happening now. Police are looking for two gunmen who robbed and kidnapped a man in newark. Here is a sketch of one of the men that police are searching for. The incident happened monday afternoon. It started on cedar boulevard and Central Avenue while the victim was stopped at a red light. The victim says two men went up to his car, pointed a gun at him and ordered him to unlock the door. They got inside and demanded all his money. The Armed Robbers then ordered him to drive around before they finally left his car and ran off. darya all roads are reopen in pinole this morning after police find an explosive device near an elementary school. This happened last night on san pablo avenue and oak ridge road. Thats near collins elementary school. All roads in the area were shut down but they have since reopened. Police have not said what the device was. mark happening now. A wildfire burning out of control is forcing people from their homes in butte county. The ponderosa fire broke out yesterday afternoon just east of Lake Oroville. It is not clear how many buildings have been destroyed but in the video you can see the flames destroying a house. Several communities have been evacuated. Other neighborhoods have been told to be ready to evacuate. So far the fire has burned a thousand acres. Cindy smith says she is hoping to help find homes for the pets who dont end up back with their owners. Wings of rescue has been around since 2012. They go to areas where shelters are overcrowded with animals on the verge of being put down. They load those cats and dogs onto a plane and fly them to other parts of the country where they can hopefully be adopted more quickly. Now the organization is focusing on the houston area. They are trying to help empty the shelters there so there is more room for the pets that have been displaced by the storms. Store located outside of houston is housing nearly 300 evacuees. The owner says his team and his delivery trucks are able to get through the high waters. They were able to rescue some people. Locals have donated towels, shoes, clothes and toys to evacuees who are staying there. darya the mayor of houston has imposed a curfew to combat reports of looting and armed robberies. This is new video of a store that was looted overnight. The curfew started at midnight and went until 5 this morning in houston. Police have reported an increase in city have been evacuated. The Houston Police chief said violators would be arrested. mark new Mexico Police have identified the teenager who opened fire at a Public Library killing two people. Police say 16yearold Nathaniel Jouette killed two employees and injured four others at the clovis Public Library. A man tries to carjack a driver, and is dragged down the road. It happened in kent, washington last week. In the video you can see a man clinging to the drivers side of the door of an suv. He was dragged down the street and his pants fell to his ankles. When the driver stops, the man continues to try to get inside the car. He was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital.
