Just two hours after the sirens sounded for a practice quake alert, the real thing sent buildings tumbling to the ground. Natmexicos foro television was broadcasting live when the quake hit. Cameras jittered and jumped wildly as the earth shook. Studio lights swayed with the force of the tremor. Natnot many people stayed inside to watch the broadcast. People started to run, people started to cry, yell, scream everythign was shaking. We didnt know what was going on. We were on the fifth floorthe resident of this apartment took a moment to record the furniture shaking. And alarms going off. In the citys famous floating gardens, tour boats rocked wildly. Oh my gosh. Streets filled with panicked crowds. Videos posted online show patrons running out of a cafe. A pedestrian overpass fell onto the pavement. Collapsed and damaged buildings are everywhere. Survivors covered in dust looked trapped in the piles of concrete. They cheered when they found someone alive. There were three flights expected from mexico city tonight one of which was cancelled, and taking a look at the monitor a second is said to have landed about a half hour ago, and we are waiting on a third scheduled to land at 9 15 tonight. The captial was hit pretty hard again on this exacty 32nd anniversary of the last big quake. 4 people were found dead so far. But the epicenter was between morelos and puebla. I met with the consul general of mexico in San Francisco today who says although the country has been hit hard mexico city has learned and improved from the 1985 temblor which has prepared them for this day. The profanity laced and offensive remarks targeted the jewish and African American communities. Swastikas were also drawn on the car in permanent marker. And the rear window was smashed. This all happened at Canyon Middle School in castro valley. Police say, they are reviewing Surveillance Video from the area where this happened. steve a pair of frightening incidents put two bay area high schools on lockdown today. Tense moments at an east bay campus over what a student brought on campus. pam but first to the north bay. Where redwood high was evacuated. pam two thousand students pulled out of class. After the School Received a bomb threat. Police say, the Redwood High School staff got the threat on an anonymous tip line. It sent the school into lockdown this morning. Evacuating the school took several hours. Then police did a thorough sweep of the campus. But later determined, there was no bomb on campus. steve and in the east bay. A High School Student was arrested today after bringing a gun on campus. It happened at de Anza High School in richmond. The high school was put on lockdown when School Officials learned the student had the weapon. Police are investigating how the school discovered the student had the gun. Authorites say no one was hurt in the incident. The name of the student has not been released. steve a San Francisco sheriffs deputy whose departmentissed gun. Was stolen from his rental car has been fired. pam the incident happened on sunday in potrero hill. This is video of the scene a spokesperson with the Department Says the deputy had been with the Department Less than a year. And was still on probationary status. The gun was left in the trunk of the car when it was taken during a car burglary. And it was not locked up. Thats a violation against the departments policy. The gun has yet to be recovered. steve legislation is moving forward to tackle San Franciscos skyrocketing car break in trend. When you take a screen shot the image you just snapped hovers near the bottom left corner for 3 seconds offering a shortcut for you to send it to someone right there through email or text. The pleasanton store owner says, she found the mannequin outside the store with a note saying dont worry hollywood was a perfect gentlemen the thief uses the name hollywood.
