For possible clues as to where this other possible person maybe we did hear from the Governor Police chief last night talking a bit about not all the tragedy of the situation but also the investigation at this point. And thats how they got into the festival area itself. So they know who he is he is wire cutters and they were able to shoot and kill him within about a minute of him shooting. But the question this morning is why and we all have not been told yet were way for press conference to find out who this gunman, us and for more from the fair grounds itself with kron fours will tran standing by is actually at the main gates that lead into it. With a and a better idea now of what exactly is happening behind and then theres got to be a lot of agencies out there will fanning the grounds looking for clues. They ran out fearing for their lives of course so they need to track down those people to give their accounts as to exactly what happened. Thats where the vendors predominately most of the vendors are there so there are thousands of people and attendance at the time having a great time battling the heat, not knowing that they will be running for their lives after they heard the pop pop pop pop pop and. You know its pretty common. The first hear it you dont realize whats that is a fireworks and sure enough after you hear so many pox they knew unequivocally to run for their lives. Unfortunately, there were people in front of the suspect at that time including that 6 yearold boy who was shot and killed that we have identified him as Stephen Romero, he was there with his mom at this point we do know that 15 other people or in the hospital at this time we dont know their injuries. Hopefully the number killed does not go up, but theres always that possibility there were Police Officers on the ground at the time so they didnt have to race ear. And thats how they were able to quickly defuses and less then a minute they confronted the suspects shot at him the officers were not hurt thankfully. Their names have not been released or their years on the job and that has been released as well hopefully well hear more about that a little bit later this morning. We tracked down witnesses it all went down. Heres what some witnesses told us about the mass shooting. We know you think wed screamed and if we were to screen he would attorney shot this that the maligned were street lined up with him. So we just ran you know in a slow does gun and then start shooting in going straight for 10 so. Yeah, it was ike so in real we still have a process that all you know we just left a tip that he shot 2 people in 2 seconds with 2 minutes before that to go the bathroom and he was like 15 feet away from us when he was loading his gun and started shooting randomly you know. We do know that the suspect had an Assault Rifle. They could not definitively say if there is a second suspect, but they cant rule it out so they have to assume that there is especially with so many witnesses believing that there was a second person probably not the shooter but somebody who did help the actual gunman. Look at all those cars parked tn james and area dawned upon me that those people they ran for their lives. Thats how crazy it was during that time this festival is about as friendly as you can possibly get ive been here so many times it is family oriented their concerts are vendors there are things that you dont see at other festivals they raise money for local charities and many of the volunteers. Confronted the gunman and thats where they fatally shot him so again now that we have a better sense will of the layout we can kind of see how close in proximity not only amphitheater is to the edge of the park, but also theres a whole open area there were theres bride is a Rock Climbing Wall a lot of families who congregate with tense with vendors selling their wares and selling food and over here, we dont know how many will we dont know how many will we dont know how many of those 11 other injured. How many of them were kids. Absolutely i mean we dont know the details at this point this is ive been many times let me show you this is basically the heart of the festival. So it does not appear. We dont know if people were shot to the right side of your screen. But thats where we do know that suspect made his way into the park and yes there are metal detectors here so obviously this person. Pretty much knew that there were metal detectors and went through an entrance that was not allowed. It did have fencing so this person obviously planned it using bolt cutters to get through or some sort of device to cut through the will you get out always a big event and im just wondering in experience. To our events today have cameras up yet for most of this type of thing you know remote cameras or is that something that that we might see in the future. I will ask them because that crossed my mind to whether or not they have cameras at this event probably not if youre just asking me. I dont think so because this is a park naturally so when theres not a festival a lot of people come here, play soccer do picnics so normally this is not say like oracle whether cameras everywhere so they had to inutall cameras than they would have to be just for the festival, but lets face it this events 41 years old never has this ever happened. So if i had to guess is probably not surveillance cameras around the well just have to wait and see him, lets face it this plane is surveillance cell phone video as well so theyll be tracking people down to see if they can possibly get their hands on some cell phone video unfortunately. The suspect died. They cant answer they cant ask this person questions to get answers for a motive which im sure sure every victim out there wants to know why did you do this and they have and they do have his guns, so theyre going to be analyzing that see what kind of gun it was a everybody so far that it was an automatic weapon right where did it come from was at lehigh only going get there is there a car park somewhere nearby that they have yet to discover where was this person living is their home they need to search is that home boobytrap thats why atfs involved weve seen this in Mass Shootings before with the extra cautious. As theyre trying to track down the residents that the gunman lived in is there anything there that could harm investigators as they make entry. It was a random at random shootings person was just shooting anybody and everyone in his sight. And many people saying you know i got nice be had eye contact with the gunman. A lot of people saying you know i just ran for my life. But the miraculous thing about this is that the police to the Police Officers were able to come intoon one minute. That means they were doing their Due Diligence and making sure they were patrolling this festival making sure everyone is safe and then they were came into contact with this man shot and killed him and then it was all about investigating and checking in on all of the victims making sure they were rushed to the hospital. Theres a lot of people now in this investigation. I mean were talking from monterey san jose i mean campbell so many Police Departments and Sheriffs Office are now out here. The atf is here a lot of people trying to assist with this investigation. We did catch up though with the gilroy mayor role in glasgow to talk about this tragedy. This is an active investigation. And i mean the entire community of gilroy all of california and now the entire country is standing with gilroy with the victim saying we are with you. This is really hitting home with a lot of people i mean this is a festival that you know his near and dear to everyones hearts. Theyve been going since they were young and then when they become parents they bring their kids so this is really just hitting home in this festival does so much good for the community.
