Yeah, theyre putting through a lot of measures to go ahead and make sure especially in wake of all these recent shootings that everyone here is safe and a big know that they want to seize enjoys their time by the police force as well as city officials and crews here Golden Gate Park have been ramping everything up getting the park ready to expect. Quite a few people for the 12th annual outside lands Music Festival. Its going to be starting today going through sunday threeday Music Festival its going to bring different people like paul simon Childish Gambino 21 pilots Kacey Musgraves blink one 82 among many others, so you know theyre going to be a lot of attendees the organizers say theyre expecting over 210 1000 people see no security is going to be at the forefront of that theyre beefing up security plans at the festival and for the First Time Ever theyre going to be allowing the sale and consumption of marijuana inside of the grounds now because of all of these things going on out i saying that the you know again the ramped up measures are going to be taking place and they want everyone attendees and anyone in the surrounding area to be as safe as possible and take a listen to what he had to say. So this comes after the city of San Francisco issued outside lands a temporary cannabis permit. Taylor sackey has the details. Terrifying thursday night as students received an alert about a possible gunman on campus, it was a weapon that was brandished. And and. San Jose Police Department will cold. They spotted the suspect they gave chase. He ran on to the School CampusSan Jose State University police chief in dunedin of police says. The suspect was just blocks away from the campus when he was originally spotted. She says the suspected in rayne on to the 3rd floor of the Spartan Complex voting which has offices classrooms and a gym inside that there was some there was 3 females inside the building. And we got all 3 out very safely. Those students called police from inside the building as san jose state went on lockdown to locate the suspect. He was later found hiding in said the duct work. The ceiling of the building. Hes. Has come down. He is now in custody. Police say the suspect was carrying a handgun which they lead are found off campus in the bushes along san carlos street. Well in the south bay, the san Jose Police Department is launching a new program to get officers to schools and city white events a faster in case of an active shooter situation. The chief eddie garcia, he announced the creation of the Guardian SchoolProgram Involving 9 pairs of Police Officers dedicated to stopping violence. We divided the city into different zones. And we will have a 2 person guardian car which weve named it. That was main responsibility will be theyll be equipped will be trained will be to respond to violence on School Campus in their particular sector. Well police are also launching a Guardian Program for citywide events like this week in san jose jas summer fest which means well have an increased Police Presence with an app active shooter mitigation plan in place.
