Heres a look at the new numbers Santa Clara County has 375 cases, 16 people have died there in San Mateo County there are 161 cases and one death in San Francisco county there are 152 cases and one death in the east bay Contra Costa County has 86 cases and one death. Alameda county has 124 cases moving to the north bay marine county has 53 cases there are 24 cases and Solano County. Sonoma county has 34 cases and one death. And there are 3 cases in napa county. Governor newsom is urging everyone to observe socialdistancing of as the number of coronavirus cases just continues to surge in california. He says that this disease impacts everyone young people disproportionately. Are the ones testing positive. In the state of california, 50 . Of the 2102 individuals that have tested positive 50 are between the age of 1849 and thats why it is incumbent upon all californias to continue to take our stay at home order seriously to continue to do the kind of social distancing. Well to the east bay, the schools in berkeley could be close longer than originally thought the Berkeley Unified School district is considering extending the School Closures because of the coronavirus theyre all they also have a plan to keep feeding the children during the closures thats important for a lot of families kron fours will tran live right now in berkeley with the latest swell. And that was one of the reasons why governor Gavin Newsome did not shut the door on closing the entire school year because of those needy family and kids he has not officially close the school year off. But it looks like the Berkeley Unified School district there giving a strong indicator robin marty that the very least they will not return to school on after the first week of april and that was the plan a couple of weeks ago before the coronavirus pandemic just exploded to epic portions that at this particular time the Berkeley Unified School district they are indicating giving clues that they will not return because theyve already announced that they will feed the needy families starting on friday through spring break. They will give the families meals to take home for talking. Breakfast and lunch and then after that starting on april 6 they will invite families not even in berkeley have nothing to do with the Unified School District for them to stop by certain locations for them to pick up meals as well for their needy family at the Berkeley Unified School district they are aware of the situation. They are trying to follow the governors lead, but theyre also monitoring what other School Districts are doing and many of the School Districts in california theyve already said that they will not return to school by the end of april so its something that theyve already said theres a sign in front of the Unified School District right at the window, this says closed until further notice. Well at this particular point it looks like and many parents are hoping before all of this exploded that the kids would return back to school after the first week of april but it looks like right now as far as the Berkeley Unified School district that is not going to happen. Right now napa has 3 confirmed cases of coronavirus. Health care workers of course are on the front front lines of the Current Crisis and many of them are in desperate need of medical supplies. Hi dave good morning. Hey good morning marty and good morning, everybody, im were seeing still a bit more of the way of some showers working their magic across parts of the bay area little bit. But we also see some sunshine going on today protect the up in the north bay as things start to dry out a little bit. What is this this is like observatory this is a quite a bit in the way of some of that fog as we mentioned earlier here, but my 2 sons for polk out a little bit. I want to jump back over here radar here real quick because we had a nice little interesting cell in part to the east bay freemont particularly in a kind of drifted from the peninsula from earlier this morning. Its next next the destination is turning rather will be up in the hamilton area. So it has one of the moisture is that does some uplifting up sloping a little bit so we may see another snows for up there. And next the hour or so but speaking of his ability levels by the way lets go and check that out it actually may get a little worse before it gets better over the next couple of hours. But certainly by noon even though rain and clouds will be stored our future. Were going look at things cleared off the fog standpoint and again when the sun pokes out we have this cold air aloft so thats going to help drive some Thunder Showers. The general pattern as you can see the flow pattern remains from this big a large area of low pressure certainly the mountain snows have been talking a lot about that and they have a Winter Weather advisory going on up there. Through tomorrow really for the bay area, the rain is going to be concentrated in the peninsula. The south bay in the east bay, the north bay you still have some rain going on today but then after today that it and youll see this in the forecast models very clearly lets go through todays progress here. This is what happens in the early afternoon by this evening. Collection up there just north of napa as you will notice, but a lot to the south and look what happens overnight. Things clear out entirely in the north bay. So that means pretty shull cooling going on and that means temperatures tumbling so we have a frost issue going on and with even a freeze warning way up north as well. So meanwhile, what thats going on in the peninsula in the Santa Cruz Mountains theres more rain showers going on and snow showers to up there in the mountains and resorts. But that quickly clears by friday for a temporary hiatus in the precipitation program chart, lets check out things for today, weve got showers really all day today as a possibility and will be pop up even if you see the sun come up you might actually have a a brief thunder shower, maybe even some brief spurt of hail going on, but looking at our current temperatures, 33 of rosa 36 napa meanwhile mid 40s across the midday. Notice this contrast it will be with us again tomorrow in a big way because its going to be pretty chilly up there in the north bay as it is today compared to yesterday, double digits for santa rosa and napa and a half a dozen degrees across midday back to this up. A new report from the cdc says traces of the coronavirus. Lived in the cabins of the diamonds diamond princess cruise ship for 17 days after passengers had left prior the cabins being cleaned. This data does not show whether transmission occurs but it does indicate and tells you the strength of the virus. The cdc also found diamond princess passengers, transmitted the disease before the quarantine and crew infections peaked after the quarantine was implemented. All told more than 17 of those were infected never develop symptoms which the cdc says could partially explain for the high infection rate among the ships passengers and crew. Miles are underway for drugs that might be able to help treating the coronavirus symptoms now some Health Experts are worried though that we might run out of supplies before we even know whether that drug a successful joe khaleel has more now from washington d c.
