Distance of the fire. And thats why the firefighters actually had to evacuate many of the homes last night just in case that fire jumped the fire line the embers carried over and then could possibly set this neighborhood on fire. Fortunately that was not the case the people were allowed to return to their homes in the overnight hours as far as the cause of the fire didnt take them very long to figure that out at least one person was arrested possibly many more by the end of today as far as the fire got out of hand really quickly. Its an area thats hard to ach you cant drive your fire trucks up there so they have hoses going along the ridge line and when that was not enough to actually took to the air and drop fire retardant down to the flames and the people in the neighborhood they are thankful that the firefighters quickly pounced on the flames because this area because its so dry and the home so close that this neighborhood give the easily been something that we saw in santa rosa where those homes went up in flames. Those 2 were prepared to evacuate like martha prado youre saying to me that some people didnt get ready to go, but you made sure that you packed your valuables. Yeah we had a lot of faith the neighbors had a lot of faith in the firefighters that was so spectacular to see the aircraft coming over and drop in the fire. Retirement. But i was still warming to save my photo album to me thats the most precious thing so my photo albums are still packed in my car and on my students work which i had at my home, im a teacher teaching from home and im live on google me right here too with my it was very scary but i got my photo albums packed in the car and we heard the chainsaws all night. The firefighters were working all night to keep our areas take so thank you cal fire. And all the firefighters, whats it like ive covered wildfires for decades and weve seen it on television but ive never seen it so close to my house thankfully whats it like to look up and see it within. A stones throw is just so scary so i felt very supported though all the neighbors were around and all the neighbors were saying we can help you. Gets a firehouse or whateveu you can stay at our house and so i feel very supported by it was very scary. I was just running around going. Oh my gosh what i get what i get. I dont blame, you know, thank you so much for that for stanley there is a happy ending because those people were allowed to return to their homes. No homes went up in flames, no injuries. But you can clearly see what it did and theres still a lot of work to be done we did see hot spots throughout the day. And its an area where they do have to have boots on the ground so there are people always up there to monitor the situation and ill leave you with this a lot of people are saying could 2020 be even worse. We talked to a woman she said oh my goodness with whats going on all of a sudden out 2020 brings us a fire right next to our home. Back to you. A lot of folks asking that now will thanks a lot. I worry about those protesters in this zoom discussion moderated by doctor Robert Wachter chair of medicine at ucsf medical experts discuss the waging war against covid19, but its also been tough to remind people about the virus. We now have a country that service reads 2 different narratives or sees 2 different sets of realities and the question is can you can you imagine something that unifies people toward a toward a common and in this current political environment an optimist i think that this is the moment and things are changing. But its up to us to keep the momentum going its not just going to happen experts weighed in on the impact of social determinants on help this pandemic shows us. Inequities we talk about in our health care system. Or if theyre not just shocking their deadly. We have a long way to go on unfortunately.
