Good morning and thanks for waking up with us on a saturday, im darya folsom and im James Fletcher we do want to start the hour with a check of weather before we get to the headlines and so lets say good morning to john trouble find out how foggy it is out there it was pretty dense when was late yeah i definitely does the wipers myself to that might have made all 3 of us very much so a foggy start to the morning, one of your worst visibility mornings at the so do watch your travel on bridges right now your view from alcatraz not showing you much, but that gray that is hanging out all across the bay area currently so as we make our way through the morning youre going to notice that fog will begin to lift right on top of that they did to bridge visibility is about to be improving. But as for the east bay hills and the coastline, its going to be pretty socked and well through the course of the morning ahead of us much like the past few days 10 to 11 00am this is your major clearing times right here fog is going to be ever present right along the coastline. Well are inland areas are in for one more toasty day a big cool down on the way starting tomorrow as for temperatures right now were in the 50s and 60s double in livermore oakland right at 60 degrees. Concord youre right at 62 degrees right now 50s for most other areas later on sunshine returns for bayside areas Beautiful Day for oakland. Comfortably cool for San Francisco and for san jose another toasty afternoon, im talking the windy evening tonight and then a big cool down for inland spots tomorrow in your forecast back to you. Our top story, this morning, a governor newsome announcing there are 15 counties in the state that are now on a watch list for a corona virus spikes and that includes 2 counties in the bay area contra costa. And Santa Clara County right now its up to county officials to decide if they want to clamp back down on coronavirus measures. The governor says that he will step in though to intervene is see if he has to. They are going to be convening the county supervisors and county leadership over the course of the next few days and making a determination to lead that effort at a local level. We are advising and counseling them to move and reinstitute the stay at home order. But they will move at their discretion if they or not able to come to some i and committed to intervening. Just think about the difference said the governors pointing to Imperial County in Southern California. So statewide he says positivity is 5. 7 which is not good at all its a big rise, almost double what it was. Last week but in Imperial County down by san diego. They have a 23 positivity race. Rate and they say the hospitals are overwhelmed. He wants them to reinstate their stay at home order there james yeah beyond california were seeing numbers really spike nationwide ive got a map here i want to show you and a lot of colors as you can see what does it mean well this is a map that shows new cases that weve seen in the past week compared to the previous week. The colors tell the story california in orange as you can see is among 21 states. It is see new cases jump anywhere from 10 to 15 per 1010 to 50 . So not good on that front but look at the states that are in deep red. They represent areas where we see new cases jumped 50 or more and as you can see on the map include places like montana, idaho, nevada arizona across the south weve got texas. Youve got missouri mississippi, georgia, florida michigan to the north and also new hampshire, those are the states where were seeing local leaders really begin to question their reopening policy in some cases reversed them. So lots of rethinking has to be done as we take a closer look at california, heres a look at the latest numbers that were seeing right now california has seen more than 206,000 cases so far that number continues to grow 5800 deaths reported so far locally the bay area has seen more than 22,000 cases and the death toll as you can see has now reached 562. We are ready when the doors are open and we will be there for sure for you. This phase, one of reopening businesses like barbers nail salons tattoo parlors and massage establishments. But they will remain shuttered on monday. Here in San Francisco gayle ong kron 4 news. To the north bay now wear Orange County is also delaying the reopening of businesses because of a spike in cases businesses that are delayed from reopening include places like hotels and gyms and tattoo parlors nail salons and Massage Services are included in that no date has been set for when those businesses will be allowed to reopen, let you know when we find out more in the meantime Contra Costa County is evaluating whether they should allow businesses to reopen as planned Indoor Dining and gyms and bars and nail salons they were all set to reopen on july 1st.
