Mix out by the mid Morning Hours and off to a sunny day today warming up a little bit more so looks like tomorrow temperatures on the board right now we got 64 open 57 for concords 56 for can 62 for redwood city. We have to have a little section here was a little cooler looks like even off towards the delta bit but then warming up by comparison sake along the peninsula and portions of the east bay today 61 at 09 00am 75 by 12, again looking for warmer temperatures tomorrow, but dropping again by the time we get into sunday off little, but look closer look at all this coming up in a bit marty all right dave thanks a lot of us get right to our top story this friday morning. Bay Area Health Officials are encouraging everyone to stay home this 4th of july weekend now this comes as the state and the bay area continue to see an increase in coronavirus cases. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson live in Contra Costa County in the east bay this morning. She has all the details sarah. Marty this 4th of july was supposed to be the perfect recipe for an amazing time, its falling on a saturday this year and clearly the weather is great but not this year the coronavirus is also spiking right now so its a recipe for disaster that is why they are urging people to stay home as much as possible why well take a look at the numbers you can see that the percentage increases across the bay area in a lot of the counties is surging at an alarming and threatening out to take a look i mean its its a lot of numbers on your screen but just to name a few contra costa seeing a 129 increase in cases in a 111 increase in deaths from may 31st to july 2nd and then looking up there it may not the county they saw a 207 increase in cases and the smaller percentage, 33 spending increase in deaths that we put all this data provided by each countys Health Department on our website for you to review if you want to look back at that look at your county more closely, but looking at total numbers Alameda County is still doing the worst in terms of the most cases Bay Area Health of officers put out a joint statement urging people to stay at home this Holiday Weekend and its because of the numbers on your screen there looking at data and theyre saying ok we see an increased amount of cases or on the rise were heading into the Holiday Weekend and were at a point where quite frankly people are tired of staying home were starting to reopen and now were having to go backwards and its all in the time for this 4th of july weekend traditionally we go see fireworks this this weekend we have barbecues we hang out friends and family but its kinda the point where Health Officers are saying you should only hang out with the people you live with and avoid gatherings of course if youre outside your home practice social distancing, i mean you probably sound like broken records here but something that has to be repeated wear a Face Covering when you leave your home when you can keep that distance wash hands, if you feel sick in any way avoid being around others that is truly how we can stop the spread of the coronavirus i have been live all week across the bay area asking people. How do you feel about this what youre going to be doing and i have to say marty a lot of people telling me im going to stay home. I dont want to risk my life or other peoples lives in people again are sick of this and they want to put an end to it now rather than get to september and have to do it all over again so most people i have talked to this week saying theyre going to be good theyre going to stay home, but of course well be live this morning here in Contra Costa County talking with people see how they feel about this marty. All right sir, thanks a lot at live report and remember youre talking in alameda couple days ago and everybody there was wearing a mask so lets hope that continues. All right robin. Well Health Experts are sounding the alarm as we head into the Holiday Weekend in the span of just one month. California has gone from optimistic too alarmed in the fight against covid19 doctor art run goal with U C Berkeley School of Public Health says that getting a handle on the virus will take a joint effort and with no vaccine expected until at least next year doctor rundell says the spike in infections was likely with the relaxing of restrictions and reopening of some businesses. This is pretty much what youd expect within reason injections virus on the right like the one that causes covid19 if not huge problem to deal with and we dont we have limited means. Well the latest numbers from the state now show the infection rate has gone up from just over 4 to now 6 and was no vaccine without many people following Health Guidelines such as wearing a mask, doctor reindl suspects at those numbers will continue to climb. Well the north bay Sonoma County is one of the first bay area counties to loosen restrictions but now theres concerns about reopening too quickly lately Health Officials have seen a jump in covid19 cases every day and as of thursday to more coronavirus cases were reported there. These new developments may land the county on the governors watch list which means the possibility of businesses closing yet again that has city leaders asking the community to remain vigilant. I think our covid increases at dont necessarily surprise me but nevertheless it saddens me greatly try to limit interaction with people as much as possible to avoid any potential transmission of covid. Well Sonoma County officials will be monitoring covid19 hotspots they also encourage people to follow Health Guidelines if you go out wear your mask keep your distance remember overall, its best just to stay home. It is and the well to the south bay now a new health order will soon go into effect in Santa Clara County yeah allow aaron Nail Services gyms and small gatherings to resume as early as july 13th or once its approved by the state kron fours michelle kingston has more. Despite a rise in cases here in Santa Clara CountyHealth Officials are allowing some businesses to reopen but they must follow some pretty specific orders this virus has proven time and again in communities around the country and around the world. That it will come back with a vengeance if you let your guard down. We will not let our guard down here in Santa Clara County. Health officials are urging residents to protect themselves and their community by celebrating the 4th of july from home this Holiday Weekend and the last 2 weeks county of Santa Clara Health officer doctor sara cody says theyve had fewer coronavirus cases 400,000 residents than any other county in the bay area. But their daily case counts are rising in are much higher than they were at any time in april the number of patients in county hospitals is also increasing in recent weeks weve seen a continued and now accelerating increase in covid19 cases in our county. In surrounding communities and throughout the state despite this they county is moving ahead with reopening some businesses the new health order allows hair and Nail Services gyms in small gatherings to resume but only with strict social distancing protocols in place like the consistent use of Face Coverings in significant capacity limits just one worker per 250 square feet in just one customer. Per 150 square feet businesses also must report positive cases to the public Health DepartmentIndoor Dining public swimming nightclub stadiums theaters and arenas to remain closed. We want kids back in school we want our lives back were going to have to Work Together to make that happen in Santa Clara County, michelle kingston kron 4 news. Well for inmates at the San Mateo County jail are being treated for covid19 the Sheriffs Office says that there are among 8 inmates who tested positive for the virus. Coming up next on the kron 4 morning news Governor Newsome has established a strike team to enforce the states covid19 rules. But its coming with some confusion. Plus officials and hayward are blaming the pandemic for the amount of trash piling up on city streets. Whats behind the growing problem. Area baseball is back the as yesterday that djis today coming up, ill tell you what th welcome back everyone the time is 5. 14 happy friday and thanks for staying with us lets get a an update on your friday forecast now with dave spahr day. Hey good morning robin good morning, everybody live shot coming in from u c berkeley and were getting actually some light coming through as you can see is a the sun gives us a little bit of gray going on here were finally seeing some light coming in through that fog so give it some time to mix out Golden Gate Bridge shot shows is a bit of that please going on this morning up against a car coming across the bridge area. Temperatures for us right now weve got 57 hayward also conquered 55 livermore any aka 56 a pretty much the 50s in the east bay, although fremont at 6164 open 50s mostly up in the north bay and the peninsula. Well have some scattered clouds and some fog to start off with today. But we go back and a mostly sunny mode. It looks like an very sunny for tomorrow much warmer is too. As far as those winds. Yeah, we have a typic l uptick of winds that happened this afternoon thats from inland. Heating. But then really tomorrow its going to be trusting this could be more synoptic driven quite a wind event you can see as we go into saturday night into sunday morning. So that this time the winds will be really locked out of the west in the northwest and that will be a nice cooling mechanism. A change of the weather for us. Morning clouds and fog going on for today, breezy and mild for saturday, sunny, warm and hot mixture. 90s inland 80s happening for the east bay. And meanwhile weve got sunday not as warm. A few 90s an 80s happening in land 70s around the bay. Highs today, look like 64 San Francisco, 69 for oakland 80s checking in for san jose coast missed a turn of the decade in the 70s here. But we do see them and the bigger borders you can see east bay shoreline we have quite a few and down the peninsula 77 for redwood city 80s pretty much are the inland temperatures going on for today, however, going into the future well see a little bit of spike happening into tomorrow, ill get into some of your weekend forecast coming up in a bit. Robin checking barrier bridges and such. I am indeed and else bridges and your morning treat is off to a fantastic start i think were going have a pretty commute throughout the morning because its friday become some folks have left town for the 4th of july Holiday Weekend. Then of course many of us are just sheltering in place. So no delays right now heading into San Francisco easygoing nice and smooth under 10 minutes off to fremont street. All right, lets head over to 92 as usual, its our busiest bridge busy does not mean its tolerable hole right. We see some brake lights, philly and west of the pay gates here so little crowded west of the tolls but overall its a nice commute. No significant slowing no problems or crashes so you can make it off to one oh one in under 30 minutes, no problems to report. Well take another look at traffic coming up a little bit later marty ok robin. Well happening today, the giants will be back on the diamond is a return to oracle park for spring training 2 point oh kron fours will tran live outside the ballpark with all the details lot of fans didnt think theyd ever see this day will. No they didnt think so i didnt think so especially covid19 but when theres money involved the owners didnt want to lose money the players did not as well. The giants will be starting their spring training the night in arizona they will be here at the start this spring training. They will be in a bubble and you will not be at oracle or any other part because of covid19 or not having fans at the ballpark. So you can watch your favorite team. On the 2 its better than nothing right theres nothing like live sports. They will have a 60 game season. The as. They will be at the coliseum tomorrow, this part start spring training for them as well it was a long road to get here because when they started spring training. It was not considered a pandemic at that time there was no shelter in place but they had to shut down. And then they were hoping to reopen and reopen reopen in the meantime they were. They go shooting how long will this season be we do know now they have settled for a 16 game season. So they will sprint from begpnning to end so its not that 162 game season that you and i are used to marty so every game means so much more you cannot go on a fivegame losing streak as far as covid19 it has already hit the San Francisco giants hunter bishop, one of their traffic from 2019 has come down with covid19 so he will not be part of the 60 man roster doesnt mean that if he gets better that he wont be rotated. Back in but for now he will not be part of the lineup. They will definitely be told to stay in their very tight social bubble, not to spread that to anybody, especially among that the teammates as far as etiquette marty unite watch baseball rate spitting Sunflower Seeds bubble gum thats all part of it tobacco as part of the mystique the methodology of baseball they will not be doing that you will not be spitting because that could be covid19 and a lot of the Madison Bumgarner measles likely king is fingers he no longer with the team, but you know were talking about theyre always looking their fingers for a better grip. Theyre not doing that anymore they can have a wet rag in their pocket for moisturizing their fingers for the better grip. Now what were used to but its better than nothing. You got that right so many fans cant wait for the start of the season will things left that live report well be checking in with will throughout the morning at oracle park problem. Well, heres something you dont want to see in your neighborhood trash piling up and high lots of it in the city of hayward the citys Maintenance Services director says that his crew have been forced to shelter in place just like everyone else and that you know pretty much shut down and delay trash and debris collections for about a month except for emergency situations so crews have been slowly returning to work in recent weeks but theyre doing so in staggered shifts an
