To make sure that the Citizens Police commission is more independent in its decision making. The oakland Police Commission was established by voters back in 2016. Under measure l l earlier this year, the commission made headlines when it was involved in the firing of former Oakland Police chief Anne Kirkpatrick the lead author of the Measure Council member Rebecca Kaplan says this will protect the cities. Public of the public civil rights and also help increase Police Accountability and oversight. The residents of all clinton voters, the bulk and tired of this and we want to make sure than we have someone in there that can make sure that these reforms are man. Well if this measure passes in november civilian Inspector Generals Office will be established within the commission the office will research an audit the commission on the Police Departments effect in this at following policies. Well also in the east bay changes are coming in martinez in response to the protests following the death of george floyd. Now earlier this month people marched in the streets of martinez demanding Racial Justice and equality. Vice mayor mark ross and the city Council Agreed to form a citizen run committee that would help guide him through civil rights gender and lgbtq issues this week they decided to form a Task Force Made of martinez residents plus they will Commission Artwork on a downtown building to include blm in place of the one that was removed. You know we all have blind spots. And city martinez wants to know. Were the blind spot start with her to with respect to our policies. Our procedures and how we attack them and deliver services and more teams, including the police and the honor Code Enforcement and our general Government Works what were looking for is separate up to give us insight and honest truth about how we are delivering those services. Marty a lot of Business Owners here are going to be excited will technically is closed right now its still pretty early but they are going to reopen today now what happened is they were shut down on wednesday because San Francisco county ended up on the states watch list and they were required to shut down all indoor malls thats what the Ferry Building was originally classified and are now they had to change the classification to be able to re open their doors. So right now that classification falls under the transport terminal classification so now the business can reopen here and this qualifies the interior as well as the exteriors Ferry Building businesses. They can already open to Service Customers indoors now the Ferry Building says because theyre re opening in because they were on this list and because weve seen a lot of cases here in San Francisco across the bay area. Theyre putting in precautions because they want to keep people safe and they want people to feel safe coming back here.
