Parents teaching in schooling from home so pg and e taking all of that into consideration, they know how many bay area residents are currently reliant on that power supply, however, there is a flex alert in place today that starts at 3 oclock and goes until 10 00pm this evening. Restaurants and shops across the bay area are also try to find ways to compensate for the heat in downtown los altos businesses have been setting up umbrellas as you can see here and canopies to try to keep their customers cool. They dont mind sweating a little bit. If theyre there to support businesses that have been struggling through this crisis. Were trying to encourage encourage people to still come and free to do whatever we can to keep people cool. But overall i think it should a successful weekend normally doesnt this hot here so is pretty hot. The past though its been pretty i guess well see over a 100 degrees again and again some of relies and the me their restaurant and other businesses are helping to keep it going in for people its its wonderful. Yes, some businesses are even offering sunscreen to their customers. Retail stores, however say the heat wave has been less of a worry than actually getting customers to come into their store and shop. Firefighters are on alert because of the heat as well after the tubbs fire in 2017 and the kincade fire in 2019 Sonoma County residents. Dont need a reminder. And how quickly fires can spread in this heat and when its dry while many might take the weekend thinking well its a great time to trim back the brush Fire Fighters say you shouldnt. We see a lot of people trying to do the right thing and trying to maintain their their seasonal grasses that have dried out get that second or 3rd cut in throughout the season. But all those type of activities or looking at its at the expense of temperatures like this or an opportunity did to ignite a fire from a spark. Fire Officials Say that you should have an evacuation plan in place. And that includes now that were living in coronavirus landau wdaf masks and Hand Sanitizer and all that as well in your to go bag. This year fire evacuations will consist of big parking lots where people will be screened. And then sent somewhere else where they can stay apart. So the district could buy all the computers you see there chromebooks and also provide portable hot spots for students. The district spokesperson says that the district on order this gear back in june. But distributors have struggled to get it to the schools on time. I like about him is just ordering computer itself. Not going to be talking about this one for sure were used to heat at times in the bay area but these next few days are really going to be a scorcher. Even for most inland areas which have been hot already. This is going to be the hottest of the year. So far you look outside at the Golden Gate Bridge, definitely no fog. No marine layer to spare us even out towards the coast today. Any sort of sprinkle activity youre seeing at the coastline is not associated with any sort of cool marine flow, rather a very warm and moist system having pushed its way up this tropical moisture is resulting in the humid feel that we had yesterday some of those sprinkles that you have this morning around half moon bay, lets zoom out and get the Bigger Picture here so this is that low pressure area, the remnants of a tropical system that has worked its way up the coastline and is now sitting right offshore of the bay area. Thats giving us the humid feel High Pressure is going to work its way back in the coming days, were going to raise the humidity were going to keep the hot weather around though hot weather today means excessive heat warnings in pink for inland areas, heat advisories in orange for areas closer to the bay in coast. Hes in when areas that are in the pink can expect expect to experience triple digit heat as well as warm evening, so not a whole lot of relief during the evening hours from our hottest temperatures during the day. Daytime highs today 80s for much of San Francisco, including mission in financial districts. 80s in daly city well pacific elder not in half moon bay, some of your more comfortable areas. But certainly hotter than normal. Half moon bay close to 80 degrees. Burlingame in millbrae in the 90s today also 90s for saying carlos redwood City Mountain view and palo alto some hotter temperatures right there on the peninsula. Triple digit heat for a couple of south bay cities. Campbell Saratoga Los Gatos and morgan hill. Each at or above 100 degrees today same for you in the tri valley Fremont Union city hayward on up through san leandro and oakland all in the 90s right along the bayshore conquered in danville at one 07 and a 110 degrees today in vacaville. Fairfield youll be at one o 9 today with the antioch pittsburgh all the way over towards nevado all in the triple digits as for tomorrow temperatures will remain in the triple digits for inland areas, we cool off somewhat into sunday still going to be hot just not as hot as what we are going to be today. Temperatures kick back into gear back into the triple digits into early next week. So really not a whole lot of relief from the heat in this forecast, ill keep you updated as we work our way through the morning. James. Thank you very much john quick check of the bridges now as we look at traffic around the bay. Its a friday morning so were expecting things to hopefully state light. So far so good here at the bay bridge toll plaza youre still moving through the toll gates without any slowdown and no problems on the span either from here, lets jump in the san mateo bridge where traffic there on 9 to 2 actually has been moving fairly well and as you can see nothing much has changed on that front, its only 00 17am in the morning. So we dont expect things to get too heavy probably for another hour or so on a typical day, but well see how we shape things up on a friday.
