This is video from yesterday this was up from a tweet from cal fire and it shows the flames there in the senate accused santa cruz mountains. And lets take a look at the video of the aftermath this is before and after now the Boulder Creek area. You can see just the destruction here is homes reduced to rubble as the flames continue to burn right across the roads along the roads going through the mountains in the area wow and that this map here shows exactly where that fire is burning this morning check it out you can see that little out line of the fire thats burning right along highway one and highway 9 in Boulder Creek. Kron fours reyna harvey live at the Cal Fire Command Center thats in Scotts Valley, she has the latest for us this morning, marty robbing the morning and like you just show the viewers at home devastating images coming out here that Scotts Valley like you mentioned the command post theyre going to. It was a press update at about 6 oclock this morning. So well be bringing that to you live. But again we want to show you the devastation and ripped through this Community Overnight take a look at this. This is what the firefighters were up against as the fire now doubles in size at 25,000 acres, we know they still have any containment on the fire. We know that several firefighters have been injured trying to get this fire out the number of structures currently threatened has also gone up were now over 8 1000 we had 20 structures destroyed. Take a look at this house is it goes up in flames, you can see that here. We talked to several people who were forced to leave their homes is truly devastating take a listen. I would say im worried im certainly worried. That that its going to get down here in the valley with an underage kids, the value mark says everybody and all the houses are gone for sure. But i dont think thats going happen. I think the firefighters are doing their job theyre going to contain it. And its out of prudence that are getting everybody out of here before the fire gets down here. So theres not a mass exodus that actually causes a bigger problem. Right so again, its still very difficult to breathe out here in the ash continues to fall from the sky i talked to Law Enforcement behind me here in scott valley. And yesterday they allow media to be beyond that line i asked them want to head a blocked off this morning. They said because they are bringing in more agencies to help in this effort for now reporting here in Scotts Valley made a harvey kron 4 news all right, thank you right now we have the wrong map up well get the right one up for you coming up a little bit later. Of the l in new lightning complex fires also affecting Sonoma County. And this is a look at some earlier video is actually from wednesday of the walker fire thats burning west of kills from here the russian river. You can see the flames and it has crowned prince of 14,000 acres acres and is still not contained this morning. And now we want to show you the l a new complex fire thats burning in the north part of the bay. You can see that the areas impacted on the map by that red line that fire has really grown so flames right now burning in napa sonoma and solano counties and so far the flames have scorched more than 124,000 acres. 0 containment this morning. And the fires tripled in size since just wednesday morning. All told 4 people have been hurt 105 structures have been destroyed kron fours noelle bellow has the latest now from vacaville. After a 5 hour closure. I 80 finally re opened around 09 00pm wednesday night, im here at air base parkway good interstate was actually shut down from here all the way up until cherry glen road up towards the vacaville now this is all because the fire actually jumped over lanes of traffic. And forced officials to shut down the highway near the interstate on both sides. Now the flames continue to flare up through the night but then would die down many folks stopped on the overpass because they couldnt figure out just where to go there were plenty of evacuations. Anyone who was trying to take back roads were just met with complete gridlock traffic just like those who were stuck on the interstate i spoke with many folks who are from sacramento trying to make their way home and just couldnt because of the gridlock traffic and for those from vacaville who had evacuated this entire situation came as a big surprise on we went by and was soon spotted going last night no cinnabon the hills all red and but never thought it was going to come down. And the town gree side road every back road every a detour. Its just jampacked though we have been well the map and weighs been trying to think of circling around for almost an hour in fairfield and we gave up right away, you know. And who is just block out pain is nothing compared to those who have to be evacuated. Todays so yeah we. This is an eye out my and convenience for us compared to them i just hope they dont lose that many homes anymore thats the key right there. I guess. Again now these lanes of traffic have re opened many folks wondering if they may close again of course with a wildfire, we know that things can get unpredictable winds can change in a moment. So it is possible that this interstate closes again however, as for wednesday night they did reopen around 09 00pm in fairfield noelle bellow kron 4 news. Well keep in mind that evacuations are also under way at Travis Air Force base in fairfield non Mission Essential personnel and their families are evacuating the base now this is because of the fires that are burning very close to the base in fairfield and vacaville Mission Essential personnel should contact their chain of command for duty status also keep in mind that School Districts in Solano County have canceled Distance Learning for the remainder of the week. And we have continuing coverage of all the fires on our website so just head over to kron 4 dot com and make sure you download the kron 4 mobile app that way you can stay updated as youre on the go or as youre being evacuated. Its always great to have. And now we want to continue our Team Coverage with meteorologist dave spahr who is tracking the weather conditions today days. Ok good morning robin good morning, everybody we start with a red flag warning that continues to hang on to Solano County because of additional threats weve already had with the damage thats been done all over the bay, but this is because theres still some dry winds that are left over as a formality for Solano County this is being held on until 9. This morning. Now upstream were going to have winds but its going to be from a different direction well be seeing more on shore compliments of this front that stays well up towards the north still under some dominance and influence we are behind pressure that weve been talking about but that would rival bit of that onshore wind invite in a little bit more in the way humidity. Some haze to greet us this morning live shot comes in from u c berkeley there. Lets watch that humidity flow now roads away today. There we can see its quite dry in the afternoon picking those inland valleys, but then tonight look at the recovery everywhere. We dont get a whole lot Solano County kind of goes right to the delta and spills out into the sacramento valley, but at least across the bay, this is better the were looking at this morning. So it is an improvement more moisture on shore flow cooler temps everythings working in our favor Going Forward and then in the afternoon that is tomorrow afternoon well get a little drying out there but again heres the recovery by saturday morning. Temperatures thus far were at 73 for antioch meanwhile 60s cover most of the east bay 50s now up to the north bay and 62 for san jose kind of the daily forecast here 71 at 09 00am by high noon word, 85, however, this afternoon these are high temperatures were looking at look at that still in the upper 90s but at least weve retired the triple digits for now. This weekend. We may. Tiptoe into them a little bit well be checking your longerrange forecast and a bit party. All right dave thanks a lot. We can take short break but as we take a break were going to take you outside for a live look. At the smoky conditions, were looking at vacaville and you can see the haze there in the air. Well have more coverage of the fires coming up right after the break, including the lousy air quality that were having to deal with around the bay area that well be right back. Dear california. We know these are challenging times. Rest assured, you are not alone. Weve all had to adapt. And with summer here, your energy bills might go up with rising temperatures. Together, we can save energy and money. Try closing your shades during the day. Setting your ac to 78 or higher. Or cooling off with a fan when you can. United we are always stronger. Stay well, california, and keep it golden. Welcome back everyone were back with breaking news that were following for you this morning thats all the fires that are burning across the bay area of those fires are having a huge impact on the air quality well they sure are take a look at this map its from the bay area air Quality Management district. You can see just how bad the air quality in the bay area is by looking at the map now the darker the color. The worse the air quality is now you can see right over san jose where the air quality is pretty bad and then look up near vacaville as well. Besides scene and of course people around the bay area can smell the smoke as well were going to continue to keep an eye on this map and the outside skies and the air quality for you throughout the morning robin absolutely well the east bay, Regional Park does. Was all Regional Parks until further notice check out the list are this is accept first some shoreline parts. Now heres a list of the parks that are close Officials Say the extreme fire danger and the 4 air quality are just adding to park safety concerns. 85,000 acres have burned in the region so far and again the district is advising against using Regional Parks in the east bay just dont do it. Well to the north bay now that would work fire continues to burn in the Point Reyes National seashore that summer in county residents in bolinas the Bolinas Community right along the coast are under evacuation warnings from forcefully to call has more. At least 1100 acres of wild land has burned along the point raze National Seashore near the west rim county community of bolinas by wednesday afternoon marine county fire chief jason webber says his crews were struggling to reach the flames 0 contained right now webber says the woodward fire started tuesday afternoon. It may have been ignited from a Lightning Strike or began as a spot fire from another blaze that kept growing with heat and when he issued evacuation warnings. The west side of highway one south of the lima through the community of bolinas those are warnings not orders at this time. So we want people to be prepared if they do need to leave and we issue an order around 125 firefighters are responding to the fire but without air support. Because fire resources are stretched thin throughout the state we are already we have contingency plans, im got all. I pack stuff ready to go fortunately no homes have been damaged and no residents or firefighters have been injured Pay Attention to to the fired twitter feed. A sign up for the marine be ready to go because depending on the conditions the situation can go from bad to worse quickly. In the latest belief that all kron 4 news. And from the north bay we go to the east bay where 4 separate fires make up the deer zone fire youre taking a look at video wow this is from tuesday. The fire has thus far has charred 102,000 acres just look at that thick black smoke there its only 5 contained this morning. So far only to First Responders have been injured in that fire. And of course were worried about the fire danger of course, but also the air quality around the bay area days far as going to fill us in on that and the weather and were getting a little bit of a cool down a day. Yeah thats whats happening upstream here a little bit. Heres the shot from u c berkeley here we do have some haze leftover a little bit. But what we have upstream looks to be pretty good though heres a live shot of the Golden Gate Bridge as well. Now what we have helping us up is a little front up to the north here and that will provide a little bit of an onshore flow. This high is going to be waning as we go forward a little bit here. This on shore flow is going to cool us down and bring more moisture our way and improve the conditions a little bit as we head into the weekend on the weekend. We may bounce a little bit temperature wise. 60s cover a lot of the east bay 50s meanwhile up to the north bay 71 for any aac 62 meanwhile for san jose so here the players in place here as this High Pressure is starting to wane a little bit theres the front up towards the north. So we have hazy conditions leftover still plenty hot, but it will be a little bit hotter off to the central valley, were were going to get some minor relief here with this front up towards our north. You have the kind of squint to see this because today not much happens. But as we get into tonight. Its sometimes called the humidity recovery. There you can see around the bay were getting a little bit more of that marine layer knocking on our doorstep here in flooding the bay area. So its a little minor improvement and that will be by tonight and tomorrow morning, not so much into the weekend and were getting some more moisture getting up here. Early into next week. Now than other part of this you can see is from the winds now during the day we sometimes get those onshore winds at any rate because we have been let heating but this high is really kind of cut that activity off and hasnt been as active. But notice how its active in Southern Marine here into the afternoon there notice the arrow directions to as well this being on shore. So that will happen by this afternoon and for tonight tomorrow morning to greet us a little bit as well, not too much in the way of winds hanging on the winds are not necessarily something we want to see with all these problems going on, but at least it will bring in some of the marine layer when it does this 73 San Francisco, the target number oakland at 79 87 for san jose across the wider bay temperatures are still not a hot but not as hot as before any on for example checking in at 96 conquer to 96 as well 92 livermore east bay shoreline to the south in the lower 80s up in the north bay kind of a hodgepodge of 90s an 80s 87 meanwhile for san jose. Theres the greens struggling to hang on a little bit dont prove a little bit into the forecast for tomorrow but coming up a little later on well have of course the 4 zone forecast for you and check in at that extended talking a little bit more about whats going on on our monday could be high elevation showers or thundershowers at work. Robin back to you all right, thank you for the update dave coming up next on the kron 4 morning news, a historic speech from senator Kamala Harris took center stage.
