Yeah you can see the map behind us theres the legend off to the right with marin county contra costa. And san mateo counties theyve been moved into the orange here the war, a moderate here this morning more businesses are allowed to expand their indoor operations luckily, kron 4 Sarah Stinson is live in San Mateo County with what theyre doing there. Hi sarah. Yes, San Mateo County going into that orange here because the case rate is now 3 cases per 100,000 people and because of that the loosening restrictions and that will see that started at midnight today so going into this morning youre going to see some of those restrictions loosen lets take a look at your screen now road out some of the things youll see that will be different now in San Mateo County, including dining restaurants, places of worship gyms malls and Retail Stores museums movie theaters all able to increase capacity, bars and breweries not serving food may open outdoors only Family Entertainment centers may offer indoor activities such as bowling alleys and escape rooms with very limited capacities nonessential offices may open indoors with some modifications but remote work is still encouraged festivals nightclubs life a live theater. Those all remain closed businesses and activities must follow the states industry guidelines that includes of course social distancing Wearing Masks local Health Officials though want to remind everyone just because you here. The word loosening restrictions doesnt mean its time to let your guard down especially as we head into the holidays, we have halloween coming up and wilson thanksgiving coming up, if that means that you still need to celebrate those in a way that is safe covid safe so make sure you have that encounter in mind as we head into this weekend with halloween. Well be live this morning to show you more of whats going on in San Mateo County for now well send it back to you. All right, thanks a lot. Well time now is 5 03 and we also have businesses in the east bay too particularly Contra Costa County that are also breathing a sigh of relief now is the countys been moved into the orange here as well thats the moderate tier so more businesses get to reopen that allows more businesses and restaurants operate indoors with up to 50 capacity, while easing restrictions does help the economy local county leaders say the covid19 obviously still here still a very real threat. I just want to remind people we got here by being vigilant we got here by doing things like wearing our masks washing your hands, staying home and we werent feeling. Well avoiding large groups and thats how he got her number so low, so my only had only message is we got here by doing these very simple things we need to keep our guard up we need to be vigilant. Red county in the north bay also has been moved into the orange or moderate here of covid19 protocols. Another big story that were following danville is going to stop shutting down the street on the weekend Effective Immediately and this comes after the city says that people and businesses have been repeatedly violating mask and social distancing rules. Travelers will tran is live taking a look at what theyre doing and why well. James on harts avenue and Effective Immediately like you said cause will be able to drive through. They usually put barriers out here so they take a one block span and then they block it off so people can walk up and down here. It feels like mardi gras when they actually did it back in june. But they saw fights at this location they saw according to the city 35 new cases of covid19 over at 2 week span. They have talked to businesses over and over to practice social distance to crack down on people not Wearing Masks and the businesses according to the city kept telling them we are on it we will take care of it. But they did not so the city and the Police Department said enough is enough that you can see the barriers out here they are ready to go. But now those barriers will have to be removed and the street will have to get back to normal. Let me quickly pull up a map for you so you know this location if you live in danville you know its right off of 6 ad. Its heart for that one block stretch between prospect and diablo they were doing this since june trying to get back to normal but then they realized that it wasnt normal that things were getting out of hand and now that that Contra Costa County is getting back slowly, but surely to a new tier to hopefully open things up they dont want this particular stretch james and darya to hinder the overall numbers the slow down the Overall Community of Contra Costa County which is why these barriers these restaurants and theyre not naming the restaurants that they say keep violating the orders their requests to get their act together theyre not saying the names of those restaurants, but the bottom line is moving forward you can drive through this location they will not stop you, i got to give you a full disclosure, i came back here in june a couple of months ago, and i was a little surprised myself when they blocked it off. It did feel like mardi gras because you can walk the streets but at that time james and darya people were Wearing Masks. According to the city. They werent doing it enough. Back to you. All right, thank you very much well, 5 07 is the time and while more bay area counties are moving up in the tears and opening up Solano County could be moving. The other way backwards because they have an increase in cases kron fours taylor the sack explains. Over the last 2 weeks county saw spike in coronavirus cases averaging about 40 cases per day for them to stay in the red here which is where they are now they need to get under 31 cases per day this is something that businesses in benicia say is crucial for their survival. After seeing a rise in coronavirus cases Solano County is moving in the wrong direction, heading backwards from the state spread tier to its most restrictive purple tier it is definitely disappointing because i working in to see people is misses in benicia say. The jump in cases is disheartening not only for the community, but also for the lifeblood of the local economy purple tier prohibits most not essential indoor Business Operations and would cause some businesses to close or change their current plans, everybody does need to do their and be diligent and especially right now we are in normals flu season and so taking just. Extra is going to help our little businesses in town stand business Solano County Health Officer doctor balan muchas warns that the county has to get its act together unfortunate reality is that we are seeing case numbers that are higher than they should be for us to remain in red and unfortunately that puts us at risk of going back in the purple. You know the cause of it is obviously people getting together with family and friends and letting their guard down so that disease spreads and we had several weeks ago several large as ants that we believe accounted for that spike that theyre not just says the spike could be temporary at least hes hoping thats the case he points to several recent events as examples of behavior that is detrimental to the countys progression in reopening a wedding at a home with 40 people no social distancing no and then there was some type of the news sent and invitation only event was a large number of people again no social distancing and we had dozens of cases from these events doctor much as says the county was averaging 27 positive coronavirus cases per day about a month ago, but in the last 2 weeks that number jumped to 41 positive cases per day number that would put the county back on the states purple tier list. If they get the same results next week now to stay in that red here hopefully Solano County can get its case numbers back to under 31 cases. Per day its also another important reminder ahead of halloween and the holidays, keep your guard up continue practicing social distancing and of course wear mask. Indonesia Taylor Bisacky kron 4 news. Despite non essential Office Workers being allowed back into their buildings in San Francisco theyre not seeing much of a change in the city. Not seeing any of that right now so it is another Crystal Clear morning this time without the winds though so were in that nice in between from the winds that we did have fog that were going to see returning today just pleasant and calm High Pressure to our west Cool Conditions overall and fire danger continuing to diminish you see those gradients of yellow and orange gradually continuing to depart today into tomorrow indicating a couple of days of low fire danger ahead of us and with no major wind events in the forecast we expect fire danger to remain lowered. Were stiel dry so we do have all that dry brush were not out of the woods completely but we are much calmer which is good news, 60s 70s for your coastal spots today, thats a little cooler than yesterday was and the reason behind that is we are seeing the return of some cool ocean air now having that chance to sweep back into the region that will cool down or coastal spots but not necessarily or bayside areas just yet still a few 80s right along the bay, although mostly were back into the upper 70s today, 80 degrees for your high today in pleasanton dublin, upper 70s and hayward and fremont while back to the 80s as well from san Ramon Danville walnut creek on up to concord in the meantime oakland and berkeley in the mid to low 70s today, north bay temperatures a little cooler than yesterdays for northern neighbors, mostly back into the upper 70s after yesterdays 80s for a few of these spots today at Sonoma Petaluma and san or failure only spots in the north bay that are right at that 80 degree mark, a look ahead at your next 7 days shows temperatures our coolest on friday after that we really see a leveling out in the 80s ahead of us so if you are inland, youve got some mid 80s sunday and monday that may be a sea worthy for inland neighbors. Well, right along the bay temperatures will be in the 70s pretty consistently your warmest one in the bay on monday coastal areas remain in the 60s and 70s of course halloween is on saturday and we have abundant sunshine for that.
