It is saturday august the 5th and were covering a lot of different headlines for you today, including this body cam footage released of a suspect or rather of officerinvolved shooting. And were off to another kind of heat spike hot weekend at work today is kind of a work in progress. And then tomorrow is when youre really going to feel it. If youve got those activities kind of strenuous to do watching the middle of the day, and you probably particularly inland you dont want to do in for tomorrow. Give yourself a bit of a break. So todays the day, when take advantage of it in early or late in the day to as well. So the scenario we have right now is that morning fog is making its appearance across much of the bay. Again, that will mix out for mostly sunny skies as we get to the later morning hours. Even in San Francisco, you can see it kind of hovering above us a little bit temperature. Check for you, though. Caltrains this week they reported their 7th fatality of the year. It happened around 7. 30, last night when a train fatally struck someone a tunnel for between San Franciscos 22nd street and bayshore stations. No injuries were reported involving anyone on board that train. The tracks were cleared by 10, 30 last night. And police on friday released body cam video showing a fatal shooting. That incident happened last week in the citys bayview district. Police say the man who died was armed with a gun prof was Ella Sogomonian reports. Sfpd released body camera video of a Police Officers. They shot down. 41 yearold bryant bluford. They say he was pacing around and stepping up to officers demanding that they like over suspect. They arrested with an outstanding warrant. But for scene with a hand on a gun in his waistband after officers asked dozens of times for him to lift up his hands. He instead reaches for the firearm and pointed at them and its not against the law walk across the street questions or yell profanities, whatever. Threats. To kill people to Kill Police Officers gripping a handgun after you make that threat pointing a handgun at a Police Officer is against the law and its a lifethreatening situations after blue for the shot down, officers approached him to give him cpr. The notice of 45 caliber lightcoloured gun at his side. That sfpd says was loaded with one round along with the magazine that had 10 rounds in it. What started as a welfare check is now being investigated as a double homicide in san jose officers responded to a call park more avenue around 10 oclock friday morning. And residents a san pablo neighborhood can now go home after they were forced to evacuate due to the discovery of hazardous chemicals. It all started after a man cleaning the home of a Family Member who recently died smelled a strange odor and discovered that shed full of chemicals. More than 100 homes had to be evacuated. And this all coming as the local Sheriffs Office shared these images of a drug seizure wednesday. Officers say theyve arrested the suspected dealer involved. Its part of a joint effort with city police to crack down on drugs in the area. Its unsafe. You cant walk around. Theres open air drug market everywhere. I do see the chp. Patrolling theyre pushing on from one block to the other. Theres just theres moving them around. And Law Enforcement leaders heard some of that frustration from people at a recent tenderloin Public Safety town hall thursday. The Sheriffs Office shoring the public. Theyre doing everything they can to make sure families feel safe. Police in oakley arrested a student after they say he brought a gun to the parking lot of freedom. High school. This happened on thursday. Officers say the student was involved in a fight after educators called police. They found a gun in his car. The contest is being held on the shores of linda mar beach here in pacifica. This event has grabbed attention from all over the world from australia to the uk and according to organizers right here in the bay area is where the dog surfing competition concept originated. The event is free to spectating. Visitors can watch dog surfers from across the nation compete for awards today. There will also be some vendors and other activities to ensoy out here. And the proceeds from the event will go to k 9 related non profits. A surfing competition starts at 9, but the citys will go for pretty much all day today until 07 00pm from 10 to 2. There is a pet wellness fair. You can bring your dog. Get your dog checked out. And they even say you can ask questions if you have them, theres going to be a mobile pet Adoption Service here as well from 09 00pm to 02 00pm at a fashion show from noon to 01 00pm. Well, good morning, stephanie. Good morning. Everybody says some of that fog has to mix out. It will be sunny for it may be along the coast as a little stubborn and sometimes hard to do. But for the most part, you should see there it is in downtown San Francisco going on. As it starts, its mixing process is fairly thin for this weekend. Theres the High Pressure developing and the southwest here for us. That will be our story as we head into particularly tomorrow. And then its only shortlived middle of the week. And then for next week cooling and youll notice that probably on tuesday, wednesday, the 2 big days. It will be a big drop. The folks inland from monday into tuesday. Well, fire crews continue to make progress on a brush fire that scorched 68 acres so far in Santa Clara County. The clayton fire is 80 contained this morning. It broke out thursday afternoon at clayton road and viet de la vista just East San Jose and crews in haypard responded to a fire friday afternoon near cal state east bay campus. The blaze started off the southwest portion of the campus on westview way and harder road. The fire has been contained. No word yet on any structure damage. A historic bakery in San Franciscos north beach is forced to close down for a week after a fire friday morning. It happened at la gloria bakery on stockton street. The owner tells us the blaze started in a brick oven more than 100 years old. And were in county inspectors say safeway has been overcharging customers at several local stores as, quote, forced recessed also reports its a problem. Inspectors say was made worse by the pandemic.
