So only one percent of the 4500 workers that voted voted not to go on strike the other 99 said yes, lets do it. So they are scheduling it for august. 15th, the city of san jose. They are still trying to work out a deal with these workers that encompass jobs like librarians city workers, inspectors, housing inspectors, that airport workers. The executives from the unions to unions representing the workers as well as a lot of local politicians talking about why they feel they need for the pay raise. Right now the city of san jose is offering a 5 pay raise, but that is not enough for the workers claim some of them live in their cars. And in fact, they also claim that city of san jose is a great Training Ground because they learned their occupation here. Take all that experience and go to the next city over and can make 10 to 20,000 more. Meanwhile, san jose loses out on all that experience. Got a chance to obviously be at the News Conference. San francisco district Brooke Jenkins says the 27 yearold James Lee Ramsey attack that elderly woman on ellis street back on july. 25th 11 15am, in the morning. These are still images from a security camera. Ramsey allegedly kicked that woman and then spat on another victim. It was a nearby witness who saw it all happen that held him until police got there. Prosecutors are planning to request a pretrial detention for him because they think hes a threat to the public. Ramsey faces multiple charges could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. They were trying to help with a brush fire in southern california. Because of allegations of civil rights violations, civil rights Attorney John Burris and ben nice bomb say the department is engaged in systematic practices of racial, homophobic, an anti semitic policing. The Police Department is being investigated by the California Attorney general. The fbi and the Contra Costa County District Attorney and much of those investigations revolve around racist and homophobic. Text messages involving at least 45 of the 100 officers. The attorneys are asking the Justice Department to institute a consent to crea against the Antioch Police which make them and here new policies and accountability procedures, including a federal monitor to oversee the force.
