Weve got a few low 90s returning and then come sunday monday, tuesday and wednesday. The core of our heat ahead over some inland areas. Well hit 100 degrees as we make our way into the start of next week. Notice bayshore cities, you mostly remain in the 70s. So its really just our inland areas that are getting so scorching hot. Meantime, theres another federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program<\/a> in legal trouble. An Appeals Court<\/a> in texas blocked Biden Administration<\/a> rule to help out students who claim they were misled and defrauded by forprofit schools. Biden administration already approved roughly 13 billion dollars Debt Forgiveness<\/a> and the fraud it for different students. But this morning were learning that hawaiis famous emergency system really didnt even go off during these wildfires right before this. 55 people lost their lives. I mean, take a look at some of these horrific images of what parts of maui look like now. You know, right now were talking about 1000 structures that have been destroyed with that rising death count. Again, a 55 and crews are still on the ground searching for survivors. Many tell us they had no idea that there was even a fire happening until they saw smoke heard an explosion at which point they had to run. And according to hawaiis Emergency Management<\/a> records, theres no indication that the warning sirens went off at all. State Officials Say<\/a> they did, send out emergency alert, Text Messages<\/a> that was from the county there along with tv and radio warnings. But keep in mind the power there was out shortly after the fire started and cell signal is still spotty today. I mean, people say they look anywhere for shelter that included in the ocean as they watch the city that they know and love in their homes at points just burned to the ground. People are found in houses in a huddle each other because the fire surrounding their homes before they could even get out. Theres no way to go. And these are Beautiful Homes<\/a> that are very old and in foot up like a matchstick. Nobody had morning. Now red cross is on the ground this morning helping the situation. Theres also multiple california agencies when it comes to the preparation, maui Fire Departments<\/a> had for a fire like this. Officials say they werent necessarily completely prepared. I mean, at any point in time, only 65 crew. Members of Fire Department<\/a> are on duty there in that county and theyre responsible for 3 islands and they have no offroad vehicles that may have led to many road blocks. Hawaii governor says that the death toll is likely to rise right now. The states deadliest Natural Disaster<\/a> was back in 1960. That was a tsunami killed 61 people.
