We start tonight with the San Francisco. Shop worker really shaken up after Armed Robbers barged into her store. The robbery. Was today at happy donuts in San Franciscos know valley neighborhood no one was hurt, fortunately. But as our kron 4 Sarah Stinson report, the shops owner is now considering some changes in response to the crime. She joins us now live in the studio after paying a visit to the donut shop. Sarah. Thats right. Happy donuts has cameras inside. You can see behind me that captured those terrifying moments when employees got robbed at gunpoint. The doughnut shop is open. 24 hours a day, but the manager there tells me considering changing those hours because employees dont feel safe anymore. 2 men armed with guns robbed happy donuts on 24th and church streets in San Francisco around 5. 30, monday morning. Security video shows one man in the kitchen. The other hopped over the counter and began demanding money. The shop manager wrath of and says shes worked for this company for more than 20 years. And this is the first time Something Like this has happened. Will i4. So we so the thieves stole money from the Cash Register and grabbed the shops. Atm van says the thieves stole around 1500. One of the men even stole money from the pockets of the baker. Just come from the pocket from the pocket. I say how might you lost his say . And thankfully no one was hurt. But she says theyre very shaken up. The source david burke is a Public Safety liaison for the police department. He stopped by happy donuts to check on the manager. This is pretty brazen, an armed robbery. Very scary. Having guns pointed you, its no joke. Its very serious. Burke says recently theres been a major spike in atm thefts, take another location and then break into the later. Theyre not often broken into the site. We have made several arrests in these cases. But it was definitely uptick and the theft of small atm machines from small businesses. Francisco police are still investigating the case and no arrests have been made. Around to a few other businesses in that area. And word has spread about the armed robbery. And its really concerned. Some business owners, one told me. New tonight at 10 police are investigating a stabbing in front of the concord bart station that sent a man to the hospital. It was reported around 07 30pm tonight an delayed bart service for about 10 minutes. Police have a person in custody. The victims condition. Its unknown at this time. Its san jose. An investigation is underway tonight after 2 children drowned at a pool at a day care center. This happened early this morning at happy, happy home daycare. This is in the all. But in hill estates, Neighborhood Police say a group of kids fell into the pool. Apparently 3 children were actually taken to the hospital for treatment. Only one of them survived. Neighbors in the area just cant believe what happened. Fire engines come and ambulances you know, like what will happen. And then just more and more kept coming. And once i found out 3 kids were impacted at. Per protocol with the death of children, homicide detectives are investigating the case. Funeral plans were in place for senator dianne feinstein. The late senator will lie in state at San Francisco city hall this wednesday from 09 00am to 07 00pm. Her funeral will thursday afternoon at one at the front steps of San Francisco city hall. It will be open to the public as an Outdoor Service following that service, the senator will be buried at a private ceremony. Feinsteins body was flown back to San Francisco from washington, d. Grant to the governor has fulfilled his pledge to appoint a black woman to this position. The fonz, a butler is currently the president of emilys list. Its an organization that works to elect democratic prochoice women to political office. Butler has no experience as an elected government official. However, newsom says her years working in the Labor Movement and on political campaigns and makes her ideally suited for this job. Speaking at San Franciscos Fairmont Hotel today, the governor praised butler saying she is, quote, next level qualified. Im really excited and product. You get to know someone ive known for years and years and years. Someone as well known not just in the state of california, but increasing all across this country thing that shes been advocating for last few years. Meet this moment relates to rights, regressions issues of civil rights and issues of lgbtq rights, women and girls issues related to voting rights. Shes been on the front and of all of these things. Butler will be the only black woman serving in the u. S. Senate. She has a wife and daughter and will be the first member of the Lgbtq Community to represent california in the senate prior to her work at emilys list. Patchy fog likely to start out today, at least along the coastline early some of those clouds have already moved in temperatures generally in the 50s by 8. The clouds begin to part just a bit. Mostly sunny skies around the bay area 50s and 60s by 08 00am then notice a big difference. I think by 10 70s begin to pop up inside the bay mid 70s in the valley. Still some patchy fog along the coastline. Much warmer weather to come. Well talk about a few minutes. Hey, usually can hear them before. You can see the navys blue angels are back. They have arrived in the bay area for this weeks fleet week. Visitors will be able to tour ships docked along San Franciscos waterfront this week while checking out art exhibits and free concerts around the city. Fleet weeks biggest attractions start friday morning at 11 oclock with a parade of ships under the golden gate bridge, the air show will take to the skies throughout the day on friday, saturday and sunday. Both the union and kaisers say theyre making progress in negotiations. But they still havent reached a deal if the strike happens, it would be the Largest Health care strike in u. S. History. Thousands of kaiser permanente. Workers in multiple states could go on strike on wednesday. Union leaders say its because of what they say are unfair labor practices and unsafe Staffing Levels at hundreds of kaiser hospitals and facilities. We want to make sure that all of our patients that come in are getting quality care. And that is why we are. Im having a strike. Sonia alan smith has worked for kaiser for more than 15 years. Shes a frontline Healthcare Worker and is on the Service Employees International Union bargaining committee. She says the committee will stay at the bargaining table as long as kaiser executives are there. We just want executives to bargain in good faith. Union demands include raises protections against outsourcing in subcontractors as well as medical plans for retiring. A spokesperson for kaiser is urging workers to reject all calls for a strike because theyre making progress. But the union says theyve taken all the necessary steps and theyre ready to strike. We have given kaiser executives, a tenday notice. They have that apple time to make sure that the they have services in place to take take care of the critically kaiser says if the strike happens, there is enough staffing to keep hospitals and Emergency Departments open. But nonemergency and Elective Services may be rescheduled. The strike would begin at 06 00am on wednesday if a deal isnt reached by then the strike is scheduled to last 3 days ending saturday morning. In the studio, amanda hari kron, 4 news amanda. But he says expanding Unemployment Insurance would create a cost in the billions of dollars. According to officials, the swimmer whose name hasnt been released was in the water just north of Stinson Beach with a group of friends when they suddenly went missing. Friends say they saw a shark in the area and then blood in the water where their friend was last seen. A shark attack has not been confirmed, but it is certainly presumed a ground. Search is ongoing. Police in vallejo are investigating fight at 6 flags that ended with a teenager being stabbed. A police tell kron 4 that the fight broke out saturday night outside the front gates to the theme park. The suspect left the area before police arrived. They say the victim was taken to the hospital. Theyre expected to be okay and no arrests have been made. A grass fire has been contained after flames threatened several homes in the eastman hills neighborhood of oakland. The Oakland Fire Department says the 10 structures were at risk. At one point flames from the fire jumped to the attic of one of the homes nearby on outlook avenue near parker avenue. Crews are still checking this home for any hot spot. Oakland Fire Department says some 50 firefighters from 6 engines work to knock it down. No word of any injuries or how that fire started. But you can see rotating on through as the system really kind of made its way through california left behind some raindrops in the bay area and then started to move eastward. And theres this year and getting that snow rolling on by and then kicking into nevada. But now heres a whole different scenario. Begin to settle in. Were going the other way. High pressure building in. Were going to be talking about those offshore winds. The good news is this not a real strong offshore wind event, but what its going to do is bring you some amazing weather. I think as we head throughout the remainder of the week High Pressure really takes over these temperatures, going to store even along the coastline, likely see some temperatures moving up in the 70s. So, yeah, tomorrow were going to start to feel heat begin to roll in. Thats kind of a transition day. Youre looking about 87 degrees in concord, a beautiful 71 in San Francisco. Even 67. Very nice in half moon bay. But them as we get the following day. Well, thats what really we start to see these temperatures heat up. How about that along the coastline of this works out . We could be talking about 77 degrees in half moon bay, that some beautiful weather there. 83 degrees possibly in San Francisco. Inside the bay got a mix of some 80s and 90 so really get in the hot side. Now, we usually dont have to worry about the heat advisories much of this time of year because overnight lows cool off. So that gives your body a chance kind of recover from those hot daytime temperatures. But certainly its going to be hot out there. I think as we head through the end of the week there right now, you do have some patchy fog out there along the coastline. But that is going to begin to disappear, too. In fact, patchy fog going to move on out the numbers in the 50s and the 60s. But offshore winds are on the way. We will time that out for you coming up in a few minutes. Thanks, lawrence.
