And jenkins says shes hoping that those funds will help prevent tragedies like these from happening in the city. He was simply doing his job, trying to make sure that people have access to goods in the community and he lost his life. He did not get to go home because somebody decided not only that they would steal from the store, but that what they were taking was worth his life.
