Were talking 132 schools, 50,000 kids in the middle of all this. Should they go on strike . It will be the first strike since 1979. As far as the Teachers Union. They went to vote last night between 4 and 8 oclock at Balboa High School and their worries are released. The results at noon. They are looking for a bigger pay raise and with the School District is offering at this particular time, the School District is offering 10,000 a year pay raise. The teachers say that simply not enough, especially for city as expensive as San Francisco. Heres the union talking about the state of affairs. So many vacancies when we have such high turnover when we cant retain educators. What are classified members arent paid enough . Investigators say this happened around 5. 30, last night in the area of redwood city park. There was a report of a teenage boy taunting others with a kitchen knife. Officers say they tried to deescalate the situation multiple times. But when the officer went to detain the team, the boy stabbed the officer. That officer was taken to a hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. That teen is now in custody. Meanwhile, police are investigating a Fatal Shooting in oakland. It happened wednesday at about 04 45pm in the 200 block of kerwin avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they say that victim was discovered there. Victim a died.
