During that election, the mayor says that this measure would remove obstacles that have been put in place to prevent San Francisco police from being able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently kron Charles Clifford joins us now live from San Francisco with more on the mayors plan and why she thinks this will keep people in the city safe. The mayor announced this Ballot Initiative in she wants to ask voters to help or make some changes in order to improve safety. Everyone. On tuesday, San Francisco mayor london breed announced that voters will be asked to weigh in on a new plan to change how the citys Police Department and the Police Commission operate. The ballot measure is called safer San Francisco. And if approved, it would do 3 things. First. It would allow the Police Department to use new technology, including installing surveillance cameras and using drones. We can be living in the dark ages when technology, San Francisco is that ai capital of the world. We have technology tools. And we need to use them second. It would make changes to the Police Department that the mayor says allow officers to focus on dealing with crime. It also eliminates requirements were unnecessary paperwork. So do we dont keep sending officers back to their deaths when they can be out on the streets. 3rd, the measure would make changes to how the citys Police Commission operates. From my perspective, many of them which have the majority are doing things to roll back important things that keep san franciscans safe. The mayor says that these changes are needed to improve Public Safety. So now were going to the voters and say voters of San Francisco. This is whats happening. These are the basic tools we need to improve Public Safety in San Francisco. The city is hoping to put the measure before voters in march of next year would only need a simple majority to pass. The family of 52 yearold desiree hughley, who goes by lisa, is desperately trying to find their mother after reporting her missing on saturday tuesday. It is concerning those medications are meant to be very periodic throughout the day. A different time intervals. Prosecutors say that they collected nearly 40 Million Dollars for their role in this theft ring involving dozens of people. California is number one in catalytic converter thefts accounting for more than almost 40 of crimes across the nation.
