The Union Representing teachers with the San FranciscoUnified School District have announced a tentative deal has been reached and it looks like they are averting that possible strike earlier this month, the union had authorized a strike if contract negotiations broke down. But the good news is this morning, the unit posted on x, formerly known as twitter that it deal has been reached. They did that at 6 oclock this morning. According to the post, the agreement is for 2 years. The union says this deal includes a substantial raise for their members, improved working conditions and more students support. So now it will go to the rank and file. Well see if they vote approve it. All right. Well have any tonight in the south bay, a main thoroughfare. Its going to be closed for the entire weekend. It is. Yeah, were talk about southbound lanes of highway 87 through san jose. A lot of people use it, but theyre going to be repaving. So you cant use it this weekend. Michael, thank 908, is the time San Francisco police have released body camera footage and 911 calls related to the crash and deadly shooting at the chinese consulate last week. The footage shows that john yuan liang was armed with a knife when he drove his vehicle into the consulate last monday. Now we do want to warn you, you may see some of this body camera footage might be difficult to watch, but we have some of it for you. The 911 call came in just after 3 oclock in the afternoon saying that a person driven right into the consulate and that they were armed Police Arrived about 4 minutes later, by the time they got their pepper spray had already been deployed. The body camera shows that Police Ordered yang to get to the ground, but he didnt. And heres some of the body camera footage as officers came in. Instead, apparently he stood against a wall, held a knife. And when a Security Guard and an sfpd sergeant tried to arrest him, they began swinging that knife. The sergeant block mister yangs right elbow as missing yang continue to turn towards them. Mister yang made multiple rapid downward swing emotions with the knife towards that direction of the sergeant and the Security Guard. As the first 2 uniform backup officers approached the sergeant and mister yang. The sergeant quickly step back, drew his firearm and the o i s occurred. Well, police say that medics arrived about 3 minutes after the shooting yang was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. Heres a photo of the knife. He was holding. And then when police looked inside his car, they found that he had a crossbow with arrows. Fact, police are calling this a highly unusual event that could have easily involved many more casualties.
