Now this is going to pile up above 5,000 feet. 5 to 12 feet of snow. That includes Donner Summit. Roadways are going to be impassable. If you had plans on gelting to the sierra, cancel those plans, it is just a nogo. And if youre already up in the sierra, make sure to have emergency kit with you in several days worth of food. In the case, the power goes out to its not just the heavy snow, but strong winds gusting as high as 80 to 90 Miles Per Hour. As for the bay area are impact is going to be a little less severe, but it is going to impact us. Nonetheless 50s for our current temperatures and thats where well land for a daytime highs later today. Weve already seen a lot of cancellations and delays out of sfo and with rainfall intensity only increasing later today, expect more of those delays as we go. James, thank you very much, john. You see those areas in red in campbell, along were looking at about 8,500 or so customers without power right now. But if you look at Santa Clara County in total, thats when youre looking at about 22 1000 customers without power right now, this is an unplanned power outage. They do have a handful of planned maintenance outages, but thats not what were talking about here. Upwards of 22,887 customers without power right now in Santa Clara County for an on planned outage. No word yet on when that power will be restored. But theyre hoping some time this afternoon. All right. Happening in a matter of minutes, the man charged in connection with the Half Moon Bay mass shooting will be back in San Mateo County in court. Were talking about truly zhao. He was supposed to enter pleas to grand jury indictments last month, but that didnt happen after his defense asked for more time to review the charges last year. Zhao pleaded not guilty to all charges and remained in custody ever since. Prosecutors say they do hope that this trial will happen this year, but they admit it could be delayed until 2025, his arraignment starts at 10, 30 in the San Mateo County superior court. Meantime, today is a key deadline for the Company Behind a proposed ecofriendly city in solano county. Today is the deadline for the slaughter county counsels office to give California Forever the ballot title that the company will need to start collecting signatures for the ballot. Rio, multiple witnesses where theyre standing just feet away at the time. Crawfords amanda hari has the story. Surveillance video outside of the law. Victoria talk korea on almaden expressway back in august of 2018 shows the moment a triple shooting went down. It was around 10, 15 at night and lots of people were still around. Video shows just how gruesome this act committing Violent Crime in a public area where multiple bystanders are located, including small children. And so you really see that in the surveillance video, San Jose PolicePublic Information officer Tanya Hernandez says the 3 victims and 2 male suspects. Were inside of the restaurant when they got into an argument and that argument turned violent when all 5 people stepped outside. That was when the primary suspect produced a handgun and shot each of the victims, at least once in november of 2023. Police identified 26 yearold Miguel Vergara perez as the primary suspect and reopen the case arresting vergara present december. Alright, homicide unit detectives really exhausted. All leads in these cases and do not rest until they bring justice to our victims and the victims. Families. After youve been looking at views like this all day, which is what most of us are going to be seeing this right here out and at the very top right there you can see it is windy and it is wet. The storm is coming in really just getting things started. As you can see, light showers drifting in more and more across the bay area. But the heavy stuff, all that still to our north and it is going to be pushing in later today. Cold front draped right here across mendocino county. And as that pushes through, winds will pick up as well as rainfall, intensity. Snow in the sierra is going to be a whole nother matter as this massive lowpressure dives deep into the west coast, striking in along with it. Some really cold unsettled air, bringing with it a chance of thunderstorms for the bay in rowlett list. Snowfall in the sierra nevada. The mountains will be off the charts with as much as 5 to 12 feet of snowfall above 5,000 feet in elevation. Includes areas like Donner Summit on i80. It is going to take crews days to be cleaning up this feet of snowfall with those plows. So anticipating snowed in for several days up in the sierra. If youre up there, make sure to bring emergency supplies. Power outages are certainly possible as well. Several days of food. As for our northern neighbors here in the bay area, sonoma and napa county mountains could see 3 to 6 inches of snowfall. So this is low elevation stuff. Its not just the feet of snow in the sierra. That is the concern. Its the 80 to 90 Miles Per Hour wind gusts that we have that are prompting blizzard warnings that just went into effect moments ago, lasting through 10 00am on sunday with those strong winds, risk of Power Outages and that compounded with being snowed in, not an ideal situation for being in the mountains. So this is very hazardous weather. If you are not in the mountains right now and had plans on going up there, just dont do it. Not a smart idea right now. It doesnt matter if you have chains or a truck thats done it before. We do have blizzard conditions today through saturday snow level falling as low as 1500 feet well down into the sierra foothills. And of course, that feet upon feet of snow higher up for the bay area. Its the rain for us. We do have that round of thunderstorms likely moving through later on into the afternoon. Very unsettled weather. So well have pockets of heavier rain, potential for hail, strong winds as well as cloud to ground lightning. This continues overnight tonight and into tomorrow as well with friday, bringing pockets of heavy rain, interspersed by lighter showers all through the day friday and into saturday as well. So weve definitely got several days of wet weather for us. The good news is the ground is dry back out. So will absorb fairly quickly. A quarter to a half an inch of rainfall today, several inches over the next few days. Any excess will drain off into our rivers. Rivers and streams have also seen water levels dropping. So this means that they have the availability pull up a little bit without necessarily overflowing. So our flood risk is fairly minimal. Fortunately, we do have high surf advisories at the coast starting tomorrow, 15 to 20 foot breaking waves that the coast strong winds to 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour that risk of downed trees is certainly a possibility. Todays daytime highs will land in the upper 50s to low 60s. Were honestly pretty much already there. As for the next several days, we get colder as that cold front barrels in friday saturday and sunday will barely make the low 50s along with heavy rain in the bay that heavy mountain snow in the sierra.
