Theres been so much rain that you would figure conditions are favorable for firefighters. But yeah, its been warm and sunny today. Yeah. Nice day around the bay area today. Of course you get the very wet ground there from all the rain that weve seen. So that will really kind of hamper the spread of that fire. But this the time of the day we get that sea breeze in the afternoon. Were seeing that, although its fairly light out there right now, you can see in and around that area near concord and antioch. Weve got some light winds to maybe 5 Miles Per Hour in that location. And generally those coming out of the northnortheast and though thats a light offshore wind that is blowing now. But it is also a dry wind that continues to blow out there right now. So were going to watch closely. It looks like its not going to be a major wind event that develops outside. In fact, things are pretty calm out there overall in much of the bay area. Were looking at some nice weather, as we said into the afternoon now, High Pressure really over the state. But things are going to change again as we get the weekend to see all the white over the top of the sierra nevada, that is not clouds. That is all that snow up across the high country in the bay area, though. Nice and clear all the way the coastline, thats way it is going to stay as we head throughout the night tonight. Probably couple clouds by the morning, though. You can see that front off the coastline. That is going to bring a big change in the weather as we head toward the weekend. So hes now last couple days, been very nice outside with some dry conditions. Sunshine, really some comfortable temperatures. Well in the 60s today, i think well see those go away. Over the weekend, though were going bring a chance of showers into the forecast, but not for everybody. One area location, especially going to see a better chance of rain tomorrow. Well talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. Breaking news. Were just getting into the kron 4 newsroom. Weve learned that another united flight had to divert to lax after taking off from sfo. The faa says the flight it was headed to mexico city from sfo had to land at lax around 4. 30, this afternoon after the crew reported some kind of hydraulics issue. The California PublicUtilities Commission is okay to 12 month rate hike so pg and e can recoup a portion of the money that was spent for wildfire safety work. That means in late april early may average electric bills will go up about 3. 65 a month and gas bills will increase just over a dollar a month. It is absolutely unsustainable. Have double digit increase. 5th year after year. Martone with the Utility Reform Network says this latest increase. Hes on top of the 13 rate hike that went into effect in january. Thats all bills go up. An average of 34 and 0. 50 a month. People who are seniors, retired fixed income. This able. These are the folks to get hurt the most. By. These rate increases. These bill increases. More than anyone else. They need a limit. Tony is hoping customers will pressure state lawmakers to cap eugenie increases since 2019. San francisco has been exploring another option having the San FranciscoPublic Utilities commission purchased the grid and take over the distribution of electricity in the city and county of San Francisco. Made a formal offer to pg and e to purchase their grid for 2. 5 billion dollars. They have told its not for sale. And that price is too low so far pg and e has and entertain the buyout. But San Francisco is pushing forward. We think we can provide the service at a more reliable costeffective rate. We are structurally advantaged as as a local government and providing that service under the local government model. In the meantime, another rate hike request is still pending before the California PublicUtilities Commission. This one would see another 7. 2 hike in electric bills. Dan kerman kron. 4 news. How long can we expect the snow to stay in the sierra . Some resorts are already thinking about skiing in late spring. Maybe even the summer. First, though, an ankle update after steph rolled his during last nights game. The warriors got a huge scare during last nights loss to the bulls. Steph curry left the game early. With an apparent sprained ankle, it cant lose him today. Steph got an mri really assess the damage and kron fours. Erin wilson is here with an update aaron. Losing staff is like the one thing that can happen to the warriors. I mean, losing staff just you can avoid the feeling of like, oh, my gosh, the season is over, right . But luckily. Those scary times. Not that bad. It seems at least after mri was done at you can see it on the faces of the guys like Draymond Green and Klay Thompson after the game when they spoke in the press conference. But given the circumstances, the warriors got some pretty good news regarding staffs as they mri results came back negative for any structural. Dan, is this. It was on this play right here on your screen where you can ee still try to change directions their bit. You see him there, limping off of the floor and eventually back to the locker room after having mri done today, it was all came back clear step will more than likely theyll miss a few games with the warriors, but hes not expected to miss any significant amount of time. Now its tough because on wednesday night, one of the topics of conversation was how healthy the team actually was. It was the healthy as theyve been all season since november. Now well have to wait and see how stiff responds to the treatment that hes undergoing for his ankle to get a clear timeline on his return. But the warriors, they will host the spurs and chase and then theyre on the road against the spurs and then they have the some games that they definitely need to win, but some games that it might be a little bit easier without step out there with well, a he responds. Yeah. This is kind of a bestcase scenario given that he had to leave the game. You knew he was hurt. If he misses a week 10 days, 2 weeks is at the end of the world and hopefully they can still make a late push an nobody wants to face the warriors in the playoffs. So lets hope yeah, they can get some momentum once he returns and then make a make a i think would be good to see if they can keep the momentum going. Now that hes out for him to come back into a really good situation a day when they were without draymond, just as they did when they without wiggins. And so just to continue that entre this season, because i think that right there is what the warriors have done well so far this season, especially if everyone else is healthy right now, they should be able to do that. Exactly. Exactly. Sep 3 for a reason, right . Yeah. Haha. And they. Happening tomorrow, San Franciscos union square will be blooming with thousands of 2 lips more than 80,000 to be exact. But i think lawrence has the answer. What he said . Well, im saying that, you know, there are so many tulips there. You might need to tip toe if youre going through the tulips. Thats cute. Headed out there. Theres a chance you could see a couple of sprinkles in the San Francisco in the morning. Not going to be and up. Turning up the more of the drizzle out there. Yeah, its got that springfield to it on friday evening. Looking nice outside, beautiful all the way to the coastline. Looking good. But changes are in the works today. Things kind of settling down across the state yesterday. Of course you had that the rain move into southern california. The action, a Flash Flood Watch yesterday afternoon and Beverly Hills of all places. But now that has quieted down. Were seeing so break in the stormy weather. But looks like them may not last long. Right now were looking good outside but off the coastline. Yeah, it looks like weve got another storm system putting itself together. Not going to be a big one. In fact, its going to come in, right kind of robin on the back side of that ridge of High Pressure as it does, its going to weaken somewhat. And that means when it comes on shore, theyre just not going to be a whole lot of energy with it. Heading out the door tonight, you can find some clear skies around the bay area. Some pretty comfortable temperatures in the 50s as we head throughout the evening and no rain in the forecast for tonight. Tomorrow that begins to change as High Pressure kind of gets out of the way. And then here comes that cold front beginning to fall apart as it comes through. But i think really the best chance of rain with this kind of storm system probably in the north bay, watch out for some scattered showers there. The rest, the bay area, you can see some passing clouds and some notably cooler temperatures by the afternoon. So tomorrow, a pleasant day san jose with a partly cloudy skies about 64. You head north, though you see more clouds, those temperatures are going to be cooler. You head north of the golden gate bridge. Well, that increases the chance of a little precipitation out there.
