It was so intense that immediately call backup altogether, 60 firefighters were here. They described it us, thick smoke, almost like fog because visibility was so poor. They pounced on it. They pour thousands of gallons water down to the building and get this james and darya because of the age of the building, it actually save the building because its old enough where he uses redwood and redwood. It is very durable, even during fires as intense as this one, which is why the building never collapsed. And if you saw me at 7 oclock investigators, actually on the top floor going through it, trying to find out the cause of the fire. Yes, it was being remodeled that the time. East Bay Community is mourning the loss of a family. The whole family died in car crash. Investigators say the family of 4 was in their car when it crashed into a tree and caught fire. Neighbors of the family say they were headed home from a friends house when the crash happened. Its sad and tragic. When this man walked up, his name is Wesley Pollard and he ended up getting into an and punching the plainclothes Police Officer in the suit there, whos protecting the mayor. Pollard was charged with felony resisting and officer by means of threat or violence. And also faces a misdemeanor charge. San jose police say he also has an outstanding arrest warrant out of georgia for resisting arrest. In the east bay. 27 yearold mark simon, who you see here faces attempted kidnapping and child charges in walnut creek and police are looking to see if there are any other victims of hand. They arrested him after there was a report of attempted kidnapping of a child at the Downtown Library on North Broadway 2 weeks ago. And police then found 600 images of child on his electronic device. Well, police in concord now aoe also looking for a man who they say tried to grab a little girl while she was on her way to school happened just after 7 oclock wednesday morning near nuala street and dartmouth way. That girl who was in middle school told police that the man tried to grab her arm while also trying to open the door of a parked car. She got away. Well, new this morning, a proposal to equip new cars with speed Safety Systems moving forward in sacramento, the bill was first introduced back in january and at the time would have called for a mandate for these car. New cars sold in the state in 2027 and beyond have speed limiters that actually restrict vehicles from going more than 10 miles over the speed limit after hearing feedback, though, about the potential dangers of a physical speed limit or like that, the bill was amended so that now it only requires a visual or audio signal to alert a driver that theyve gone over the speed limit. The mandate would apply to half of new vehicles starting in 2029 and then all new vehicles by 2032, the bill passed the California SenateTransportation Committee is now headed to the Senate Appropriations committee. One day after the ribbon was cut on San Franciscos new 911, dispatch center. The Computer System that integral to dispatching Emergency Service personnel went down. We had it what we call a cad outage where we had a failure, had our Computer Aided Dispatch went San Franciscos computer, aided dispatch system or cad allows those taking 911. Calls to take incoming information into a computer which police and fire dispatchers in another part of the 911 center can see and send help immediately when the system went down at 05 00am. That automatic communication had to be done manually, meaning notes had to be written down and then physically handed to the appropriate dispatcher to send help and Something Like this happens. Its all hands on deck. So we bring people out of key. Why we bring our supervisors on the floor. Whoever needs you know, jump in. We have runners, you know, we its a its a building with a lot of people working in it. So when we have the scenario, we just bring in a few extra hands to make sure we have all the people we need. Alameda countys Narcotic Task force team executed a search warrant yesterday in connection with an illegal possession and sale of multiple guns investigation. Police arrested a man on charges related to that investigation. Well, there is now a hotline in Alameda County for victims of 35 people who are currently on death row. But their cases are being reviewed. So District Attorney pamela price says her office uncovered what might have a pattern of misconduct over the last 30 years where prosecutors purposefully excluded black and jewish people from juries. Thats what the suspicion is. Theyre investigating it now. But prices family members of the victims of those that are on death row are now being informed of whats going on. Well, lawmakers have blocked a bill that would have prevented state politicians from entering into nondisclosure agreements while crafting bills. So the legislation was proposed by Assembly Member vince fong. He said the ban, they want to ban the use of the nbas in the lawmaking process, arguing that it would increase transparency in state legislation, including in to the public in as part of this process.
