So once the atmosphere gets rocking later today, well see a lot of movement. Everythings pretty much west to east. Now on that reversion of everything you see in the pacific. So that means we go into High Pressure and warm in those numbers up. So the 80s are coming our way by the middle of the week. The winds are still active, though. Want to make note of that. We dont see a lot right now, but expect that chilly onshore of the ocean is still believe very chilly. Its still thinking winner, even though were starting a bounce in the spring. So that will provide cooling for the bay in the coast and somewhat chilly inland will provide some cooling. Really 3 got the 50s going on for the east bay got some 40s up north. 53 San Francisco. 51 for san jose. Much warmer than we were from this time yesterday by a few degrees. If youll notice. All right, dave, thank you. Protest over the war in Gaza Continue a College Campuses nationwide here in the bay area. Students at stanford and uc berkeley have been camping out for days. Trump was jack moment reports from stanford with the latest. Well, students here at stanford have been protesting for a little bit over. 48 hours now, but University Administration tells us theyve already sent letters to around 60 students, they say, are involved in these protests, telling them that camping here on campus is against University Policy and could lead to a possible suspension or even a rest. And yet students here at stanford and uc berkeley tell me. They have no plans of stopping anytime quite saturday afternoon on stanfords campus. Its a weekend that newly admitted students can come tour. Its also the second day that dozens of students are setting up tents and making a bold requested their administration. We want we think that public support and the Student Support is crucial in being able pressure these institutions to do so. Emily smith, a junior at stanford, says the big request is making the private college disclose any financial ties to companies that financially support israel. Protesters here say its a tough ask. I think they are stubborn to be quite frank. I think actively trying to crack down on student letters were sent to students friday telling them that camping and stanford is illegal and they could face discipline or even arrest home. I think thats something students are taking day by day across the bay, a couple 100 people rallying for a similar cause. Music and flyers. The same and islands yousef, the student at cal and says they have no signs of stopping their protest any time die earlier uc berkeley sent kron 4 statement saying in part we continue to carefully monitor the situation and to date there have been no disruptions of university operations. Meantime, classes and at u c berkeley this past friday, meaning that those protests could be any quite soon. Whereas at stanford, they are on the quarter system with classes lasting until june. When the east bay Police Arrested a homeless man accused of attacking 2 people, including piedmonts police chief. It started friday at ace hardware on grand avenue in piedmont. Police say they got a call about an elderly man getting hit from behind the suspect identified as willie gomer ran next door. Police say the suspect looked like he might be under the influence of drugs. They say he attacked officers. Thats when Police Pepper sprayed and tased him. Gomer eventually broke into a home and threatened the resident inside the suspect then ran outside and was confronted by police chief Jeremy Bowers government is to get into Bowers Police car. I was trying to keep the suspect from driving off by approaching him from the opposite side of the car. Thats when the chief was attacked. Goma was arrested on several charges. A person is recovering after being shot in oakland. Officers responded to emergency calls on would still street around 2 saturday morning. They said a number of cars were struck by bullets. The group crime survivors for safety and justice hosted the event to marc National Crime victims rights week lost loved ones were honored in a ceremony led by advocates calling for Better Safety strategies. This is the first time ive been here and i when i walked in, i notice that this is this is a big deal. Theres so many a tense here venues here for people to check out. Yeah, we have bunch of races are 10 k in goes all through the city and through some of our parks and our 5 cain r 2 mile go through the fairgrounds and under the downtown pleasanton arts, which is a really great experience and on our main street on which everyone really enjoys and you can walk, you can we awards for the our highest runners. But you you know, has anyone gets a medal at that . And so its just a great participation events and we are sponsored by workday. So they have a huge 10 here. They also have a lot of their own runners come out support us in our we have a kids challenge to which is super fun. Part of the morning is sponsored by pnc bank and all the kids run in little divisions there from like 3 to 10 years old. They run little. Hes just a little forth a mile around the around the fairgrounds like weve got to get this in. This is for the School District as well yes. Now this is our largest event of the year and is a huge fundraiser for all the things that we do. So our Foundation Supports our librarians are intervention specialists and we offer student teacher grants every year. And it really and we do wellness throughout the district. So we with mental healdh, especially coming out of covid. Our kids be a lot more extra support. So we help kind of fill in the gaps where the School District is needs extra support. And you know what our board in our mission feel is important what times. And we end up about 10 oclock. So after the race, everyone comes sarah ward wanders around our expo. And its super fun. Thankfully, no casualties, only minor injuries are reported Douglas County sheriff urging residents to secure their homes and stay home. Please do not drive in impacted areas. Not only are you causing traffic jams, but people can get hurt on the responses to these disaster areas. And they may require Emergency Services as well. And if the traffic is jammed and all the cars are parked in other side of the road, you could put them and and their loved ones at extreme risk. This tornado, one of more than 70 generated by this storm system. Another one of which passed over Eppley Airfield on the eastern edge of omaha, destroying 4 hangar buildings with dozens of privately owned planes inside after hitting the airport. The storm moved into iowa, destroying at least 40 homes as the National WeatherService Works to assess the damage. Millions of residents of the plain states are bracing themselves for more storms coming saturday. Nws issuing a Tornado Warning for parts of western oklahoma and northwest texas calling the tornadoes large hail and wind gusts there, a particularly dangerous situation. Good morning everybody. And what we have going on this thing was actually on our coast just a few days ago, giving us a break in the warming weather and what you have generally speaking in, say, october through the winter months. This is where a lot of your severe storms tend to be. Then you get to around april. May it moves up towards. Oklahoma, arkansas. Into missouri and then in july. And so for that up of michigan, minnesota, its also said with the jet streams, we have this low that goes over. The rockies really doesnt do much. Comparatively speaking a little snow and all that. But then it gets over least side in grab. All this moisture from the gulf of mexico. Theres the cold air from coming from canada. Contrast in contrast is what we look for for weather. So what you see going on here is what the Severe Prediction Center saying these are going to be the problem areas most likely in eastern texas for today. Western louisiana. They could see some tornadoes going on there as well. You get further away and then its less likely until you get to the marginal area. But still in these marginal areas, you can still get some rough weather sometimes associated with all about on the home front, a much cleaner picture her with all this. Some left over fog clouds, you can see kind of trapped before the atmosphere start to get excited to move it around little bit here. 50s at this hour. You can see in the east bay 40s up north. 53 San Francisco. 51 for san jose and our future cast for its looking pretty good. Why the traffic is now north of us as early as west to east and we going have kind of a mild forecast next couple days and warming up a little bit more. So towards the latter portion of the week. So as you can see all the way into monday, looking pretty sweet that mostly sunny skies. They scrounge up moisture up in the mountains at all with daytime heating our winds, though theyre going to be with us. And remember, the ocean is cold still so this isnt a contrast again brings in that cooler marine layer of moisture off to the east bay, certainly along the coast and that keeps the cooling effect in new fields inland as well. But those afternoon breezes, going to have a little bit more of that for tomorrow as well all the way through tuesday and that were going to some of those winds as we get to the latter portion of the week. The sfo, theyre having some construction delays about 45 minutes or so. Mostly sunny and mild, cool, breezy 70 ish for the bay. Meanwhile, mid 70s going on in london early part of the week. Sunny and nice way to get to about 80 or so by the middle of the week, even into the lower 80s. We get to thursday that its going to break into the weekend.
