News station, this is home. 11. Now at 11, a rescue swimmer pulls a 5 yearold boy from the water. Nearly 30 minutes after he was reported missing. In the delta. Were continuing to follow that developing news out of the east bay tonight with that 5 yearold boy had been taken to the hospital after he was found submerged in the sacramento San Joaquin River contra. Costa county fire says the boy was recovered in the water off of bethel island. Crews rushing to the scene earlier this evening after the boy was reported missing by his family. A rescue swimm r eventually found him submerged in the river about 25 minutes after the call went out, cpr was performed on the boy who was then taken to the hospital. First responders on scene say this is a reminder of the potential dangers for Young Children near the water. This is the first really warm day so far this year. So parents and adults who are watching children need to keep constant visual contact with the children. And when the child is by the water, they need to be wearing a life vest and where that life vest correctly, people who are by the water should be wearing a life vest because if you fall and it only takes one gulp of water to submerge and round. In other news tonight, thousands students at uc berkeley graduated today, but it did not happen without students protesting the ongoing war in gaza. And this comes as student protesters have been camping there for weeks and they say theyre continuing to negotiate with the university on their requests. Kron fours jack moment reports. While thousands of students around uc berkeley are graduating this weekend, many students here at the un, kevin at sproul plaza say they want to march to so that they are disapproving of the universitys negotiations with their demands. Saturday evening on uc berkeleys campus, a similar site. But this time. The cops dirt graduation. Weve been out here for a while and there goes a scissor back and forth and universities not negotiating in good favor. Doctorate student giannis khosla. They organized a walkout during commencvment and during a negotiating meeting with the university. They let from the university had been talking about taking statements in the commencement. To meet our first amending the silence. But the statement was very double sided. And so we were making a presence outside of todays session. Berkeley told kron 4 in a statement it would not discuss the parameters of possible negotiations with protesters which have been camped here for nearly 3 weeks. It was very disruptive. It was very loud. You can hear through the audio. Uc berkeley went on to say that it is looking to close down the encampment, quote, our priority remains on bringing the encampment to a peaceful at protecting the physical safety of the campus community. And ensuring there is no disruption of university new messages show up at the encampment for recent grads. Students like cash flow say there are proud to be part of cows. History of student activists. So were just living up to the standards of this university. And expect more from the night from administration, big topic of discussion here at this encampment is with summer on its way where all the students go. Students carrying palestinian flags were escorted out of the commencement address at the university of wisconsin just a day after those protesters agreed to dismantle their encampment and not disrupt graduation. Meanwhile, on friday morning, Police Arrested 33 people in an encampment at the university of pennsylvania. The Student Newspaper reporting police in riot gear gave a 2 minute warning before clearing out the encampment. Police say only 9 of those arrested were actually students. And then an escalation between protesters and counter demonstrators at mit led to police arresting around 10 people. University Officials Say they tried to clear the encampment peacefully before calling police. I do have family in canada in chicago and they have some pictures with the green and the peak. But for us, you know, you got to be farther inland, as you can see across the bay area. We have were socked in of the clouds. San jose looks like a clear spot and heres the future cast model. So this is an hour from now. This is after midnight. Notice the coastline here we have the clouds rolling in and through the golden gate gap towards oakland. And you notice were mostly clear towards livermore and conquered so that maybe i already know people are out there in place hoping to catch a glimpse of that. So heres 02 00am. So your best bet is to be traveling far inland away from the city and the coastline with the clouds are fear and higher elevation. Of course, well get a better chance.
