Obviously she didnt want to be recalled at all, but they collected the necessary 75,000 signatures. So it was a matter of when the election will happen. And they found out late last night. So take a look at your screen. Here is the meeting from last night. So many people turned out to the Alameda County board of supervisors, some demanding that they have a special election as early as august. Maybe september, a standalone election with only one question whether or not price holds on to her job. Many others are hoping general election november 5th, where more people turn out, especially this being a president ial year. As far as whos going to be president , more people turning out is better news for price and her supporters detractors, the people who want her recall, they believe that she is soft on crime and soft on suspects in a fake one extra day is one extra day too long for her to remain in office. Here are both sides of the issue. Da price won her election fairly. It should be allowed to serve her entire term. This recall is ridiculous. So many businesses that are closing down because they are the da is not prosecuting. These criminals says the selective recall election. Has violated the county charter. It is actually illegal and undemocratic. All we want is justice. Accountability for the citizens. Alameda county. And the people who want her recall believe that she is not properly charging suspects whenever they commit a crime and are arrested. Ultimately, james it came down to timing and money. Timing meeting the board of sumervisors. They did not believe that they could turn around as quickly as august to have a special election and money. Huge gap. A special election would cost as much as 20 Million Dollars placing this on the general election would be around 4 Million Dollars and that 16 Million Dollars gap is needed for a very cash strapped.
