The biggest fire thats been happening is the rocky fire. Debora villalon back on the fire line, you learned the fire is still spreading and causing more people to evacuate from home. Were on the east side of clear lake. Were watching this ridge about 5 miles away. The rocky fire, flames still growing and occasionally leaping up. People here are being warned they should be prepared today leave if necessary. The big picture is so big it becomes hard to grasp. More than 18,000 acres and still burning. My nephews, my grand kids, my son and daughterinlaw. Reporter but evacuees have to think small. What they can grab fast and throw into the car. What is irreplaceable. Its been crazy. Its been scary. The National Guard added two tankers to the two that were already in service. Containment still estimated at 5 although that number may actually be higher. Once theyve done the mapping and surveying, it may be that they actually are making more head way on the rocky fire thats whats indicated on that 5 . By the way, calfire asking everyone wherever they go this weekend be very careful as were seeing now all it takes is a spark, julie. Its such hard conditions for those people to have to just watch and wait. And now we go to bill martin on the conditions as they try to contain this fire. I hate to say temperatures five to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. And the fire in a very remote area. Not very re remote but hard to get to. Youre getting Something Like this. The fire is getting pushed more in this direction instead of going off to the east. The winds are kind of light but they are pushing in more toward the clear lake area. The forecast for tomorrow then. Tomorrow morning at 8 00 a. M. Its about 68 degrees. Maximum temperature 90 degrees. But notice the bottom tier numbers, 60 and 40 . Thats three and four times what the humidity was when this fire started. Increased humidity is going to help firefighters a lot. Its just a really tough terrain to fight fires in. A firefighter was found dead while working on a fire in the Northeast Corner of california. He was fighting the frog fire which has burned more than 1,000acres. David rue was from assignment from california. So far no cause of death. Governor brown expressed a statement expressing thanks for his service and condolence for his family. The San FranciscoSheriffs Department says an inmate found dead inside the county jail this week appears to have committed suicide. And what concerns the mans family and the Public Defenders Office is whether Sheriffs Office took the proper precautions to keep that from happening. Jana katsuyama in the city tonight. And tells us there were some warnings but they may not have been taken seriously enough. Reporter the jail staff may have been notified three time that is this inmate had issues and the question is whether they did enough about it. Jail staff had been warning earlier he was suicidal. From our perspective theres three huge red flags for why the Sheriffs Department should be keeping a very close watchful eye on mr. Perolino. Later, chp called and told them they had found him intoxicated on a bench but was denying being suicidal. He was crying and she felt concerned about his Mental Health state. Certainly were concerned about the level of care or clients are getting while theyre in custody. Reporter there should be a review of the jails policy so that this doesnt happen again. The Sheriffs Department says that their internal investigation unit. The San FranciscoPolice Department and the medical Examiners Office are all conducting their own investigation. Any idea how long it will take before we see what the results are. I did reach out to the Police Department and they said being conducted by their homicide unit. But in the meantime. Certainly a lot of questions and concerns and the public defender says theyre awaiting the result before they make any recommendation. One of the three men convicted of carjacking a school bus and kidnapping 26 children are up for parol. Shonefeld is expected to be released within a week. The men had planned to demand a 5 million ransom but the driver and students managed to escape while the men slept. Woods is up for a parol hearing this fall. 21yearold Mark Anthony Estrada lived with his parents in east oakland. Richard pointer tells us that police executed a search warrant and collected items that they may have previously overlooked. Estradas mother told the attorney that investigators removed a poster and the attorney think theyre still trying to accomplish possible gang ties. Estrada has a bullet wound and is currently being held at the santa rita jail. A man was struck and killed by a train. Caltrain says its still not clear why he was there. A southbound train hit him near 22nd street about 4 30. He died a short time later in the hospital. There were about 400 people on the train at the time. They had to disembark and trains were stopped in both directions. The tracks will be open at about 5 40 tonight. Its the 15th fatality on bay area tracks so far this year. B. A. R. T. Coast guard has suspended its search for two teens that went missing off the coast of florida. Perry cohen and austin stephanous vanished last friday after they is the out on a fishing trip. The coast guard quickly located their both 70 miles offshore but despite a search as far north as North Carolina crews have not spotted any signs of those boys. The coast guard says it will resume their search if they get any new information. The e embarcadero will connect fourth and king by at t park with Fishermans Wharf using those historic streetcars. Rob roth tells us the service was actually proposed years ago but its just now getting rolling. Its been talked about for some 30 years but beginning tomorrow it will become a reality. San francisco leaders announced the launching of the e line. Ready, one, two, three. Reporter e line will run from the caltrain station to Fishermans Wharf making stops all the way down the bay. It connects from ballpark to the new brandon street wharfing, ferry building, exploratory yum, cruise ship terminal, pier 39, Fishermans Wharf. We just have a ring of activity. Reporter currently passengers have to take the f line to Market Street and transfer in they want to go along the embarcadero but with the new line they wont have to transfer. Within 20,000 passengers a day ride the f line and as we saw today those streetcars were so full they didnt even stop to pick up passengers waiting in front of the ferry building. I think its going to lighten the loan on the f which is good. Reporter the idea was first proposed in the 1980s but was put on the back burner until now. Muni says it experimented with the e line during americas cup two years ago and muni says it got great reviews from passengers. Tourists said the e line should make it a lot easier to get around. You come here and you always have questions and you have to look like a tourist, where do you get this transfer or that transfer. Seems that would be a very good idea.
