Officers received a call just after 11 30 to the harm on margarido drive. When they arrived they found an 80yearold man suffering from head trauma. Reporter full of activity as police investigated a homicide. Early saturday morning neighbors exchanged hugs, overcome with what happened. How does a neighborhood recover from this . . Reporter according to oakland police, 80yearold clark was beaten to death in his home and suffered blunt force trau that ma to the trauma to the head. His middleaged daughter was also injured. She was in bad shape when she was taken to the hospital. Bloody. I didnt get close enough. I didnt crowd in to see what was going on. We asked if we could ride along, or my partner asked if she could ride along but they said it wasnt needed. Reporter the daughter has been discharged from the hospital and accused of the crime and taken into custody was 32yearold aaron clark. Hes charged with two counts of murder. Office officers that officers that arrived on scene discovered two individuals sitting in the vehicle not moving and upon further investigation we discovered that they were suffering from what appears to be gunshot wounds. Reporter police rendered medical aid and called for paramedics, but the two victims, a man and woman, were pronounced dead. Police recovered a gun but wont say who was responsible. Homicide detectives searched for witnesses and Surveillance Video from the neighborhoods. Neighbors say they were shocked by the news. No one recalled hearing gunshots. They say criminal activity in the neighborhood is increasing. Unfortunately theyve decided this neighborhood is a place where they can do that, whether theyre drug users and theyre stealing to feed their habit or whether theyre professional criminals or its just an opportunistic mugging, i cant say.
