Homeowners have to turn in a form saying the workers have the right to enter their property. 5000 victims are expected to do so. The center will be open until 6 00 tonight. New concerns for the potential of flooding and landslides burned out by the fires. Fires damage critical drainage pipes in santa rosa. Heres more on the repair work being done. It turns out the tubs fire damaged or destroyed a number of underground storm drains here in santa rosa at some of the community and thats a big concern is ray begins to pick up here in the northbay. These damage underground pipes could lead to flooding and landslides in the burned areas. This was the scene today just outside of santa rosa near cross creek as crews worked to replace a burnedout section of pipe that runs underneath the road. City and county officials have identified at least 23 different locations were storm drains have been destroyed by the fire and many this is in the hills of Fountain Grove. Part of this hillside collapsed near homes on Newberry Court. 250 feet of underground pipe earned during the tubs fire and runoff from recent rains cost caused the earth to give way. The pipes had vegetation around it. When that vegetation burned the pipe essentially caught fire. It burned back on itself underground back to where it originated from. City and county are identifying where storm drains were damaged or destroyed by last months fire and replace them as quickly as possible. With the series of storms moving into the northbay, authorities are warning people in those burn zones to keep an eye out for flooding and landslides and be ready to evacuate if need be.
