The rest of the students have been moved to a safe location. We have about 100 Law Enforcement personnel on route to to him up with multiple scenes. I can think of at least five seems that i have been told about. So we are spread thin. We have a lot to do and were doing our work. There is no clear indication yet on how many victims there may be. He says a semi automatic rifle and two handguns have been recovered. None of those who died including the gunman have been identified yet. We know that a couple of children were killed and investigators are trying to determine a motive behind the shooting. Ive been speaking with witnesses and they say that the gunman was apparently driving around town this morning and he was firing his weapons from inside his car. It appears to be random. His neighbors that knew him said he often got up in the morning, early in the morning, and like to fire hundreds of rounds of ammunition from his weapon. They say they called Law Enforcement numerous times, but they are telling me that the Law Enforcement said they couldnt do much about it. Apparently he was on private property. Jim, we heard the sheriff talk about five different scenes. Can you get a better sense of how this all started . It appears he was firing at random, but was there some sort of domestic dispute and then he went off in a vehicle shooting at random . Thats what im told. This is from a witness. I am told by another witness who said the roommate was shot and killed. Apparently he and the gunman had a dispute. I do not know over what. And the roommate was one of those who was shot and killed. Can you tell us if the gunman had any connection at all to the school where he opened fire . Reporter i havent heard that yet. Most of the report is far from the scene and were not getting a lot of information. It sounds like it was random. He was driving around the town and shooting whomever he wanted to. Im not familiar with that area, but from where that first report of shots were fired at the home and where the school is, what kind of distance between those two . Reporter i do not know. Is there any word from Law Enforcement about whether they knew the gunman prior to today and if he has been on their radar are another type of crime was committed . Reporter i dont believe they have said anything like that. The neighbors are saying he was a felon in lot and well known to Law Enforcement. They say he was arrested several months ago in a stabbing and i dont know if he was out on bail or what that situation was like. Do you know what the final confrontation between the shooter and Law Enforcement was like quick i do not know. They have not said. Pg e has been secretive in terms of providing information and the complaints i came in and calls that came in about reporting problems with the power lines. The complaints dont specifically ask for damages but attorney say part of what they are looking for in any settlement is that they would like an independent board of auditors to have access to pg e and the future to make sure they are doing everything they can to be safe and maintain their equipment in the future. Fema told him they are evaluating several Burn Properties for temporary housing could be placed. They name other contractors and subcontractors involved in the installation of this water slide. The boy was near the bottom of the slide when he flew off and landed on the concrete. The entire thing was captured on video. He suffered injuries to his head, back, arms, and legs. He has been traumatized by what he has gone through. This lawsuit claims there was too much water pooling at the bottom of the slide which caused the boy to hydroplane. This was a horrible, traumatic event that could have been avoided. They couldve made sure that there wasnt a lot of water at the bottom of the slide, more water than was required. They couldve had higher barriers on the side of the slide. Or they couldve enclosed it like a tube. This has been a traumatic experience for us. He has a wonderful therapist and continues to make progress. Reporter the city of dublin did issued a statement in response to the filing of the lawsuit, the city and its legal representatives have attempted to reach an amicable settlement with the family however the family lawyer has refused to provide any information about the families injuries that would be necessary to resolve the claim. The attorney for the family tells me that that is not true. They offered medical records and other information about the boys injuries to the city of dublin. Another entities named in this lawsuit, the city, state, and manufacturer 30 days to respond to the suit.
