At the bay bridge toll plaza its pretty light. We are learning more about that shooting rampage that included shots fired at an Elementary School and terrifying scenes in several areas. Here is what we know right now. Five people, including the gunman are dead. Ten more people were wounded including two children. One at the Elementary School and another was on the way to school. Neighbors say they complained in the past about this gunman firing shots on his property. Authorities say that the gunman was out on bail after being charged with stabbing a neighbor. The day before police were called about a domestic dispute involving that man. The gunman was a 43yearold kevin jansen neil. This photograph is from early their year when he was arrested and charged with allot with a deadly weapon. The city is on the northern end of the central valley. Its about 100 miles north of sacramento. About eight thousand people live there. Deborah went there and talked to people who survived that shooting. Listen. People died here today folks. This is a very tragic event for all of us. Reporter emotional day for local Law Enforcement who managed to stop the gunman in a shoot out but only after he terrorized the community for almost an hour. It started they say when kevin jansen neil shot and killed two neighbors, one a woman with a restraining order against him. Then he stole a truck and drove around shooting. He was bent on driving by residences and shooting at them randomly. Im still alive and i rather he dont kill me. Reporter this woman escaped. The one guy stopped behind me and they say you know that someone killing people . I say no. Who is and he said thats me and he shooting me five times. Reporter there were seven different crime scenes. The assistant sheriff came on a woman trying to drive herself to the hospital. She was wounded along with one of her children. She told me that she doesnt know this person, never saw him, doesnt know why he started shooting at them. She was just passing by. Reporter next came his assault on an Elementary School where the morning bell hadnt rung and kills were still outside playing as gun fire approached. It was a really horrible scene as described by the teachers of multiple, multiple rounds being fired. Reporter the superintendent said that staff got the kids inside, ducking for cover, seconds before neil reached the quad and started spraying walls and windows, even trying to open locked doors. I was actually told by a secretary who sent an email while crouching behind the desk, reaching out. Reporter one boy was struck but will survive. Another woman was shot and killed in front of the school. I saw the guy after he got shot. Reporter this resident lives near the campus where it finally ended. Neils stone car forced off the road. He opened fire on officers and they returned it. Im glad there is no threat. I feel sorry for his family, not for him. If he is willing to shoot innocent children, sorry, i got no pity. Reporter deputies recovered two hand guns and a rifle. Im grateful to the men that engaged this suspect. A mass murderer, thats what he is. Reporter ktvu fox 2news. We are hearing stories of bravery. One man said that he heard the shots being fired near the Elementary School and ran toward the campus and the gun fire. I just ran. Then when i get there the guy was shooting through the windows. I said why dont you shoot this way . When he saw his face, i knew him. Then he started shooting at me. Reporter he was grazed by a bullet on his arm. He said besides recognizing the gunman he knew all of the people who were killed. The acting governor released a statement saying our collective hearts ache for this California Community on this darkest of days and we pledge to never forget those affected and to never stop working on their behalf. Police say that the 59yearold randall sito escaped and caught a charter flight and flew to san jose. Authorities say that he has classic serial killer tendencies. He had been held there for 30 years. He was missing for almost ten hours before hospital officials notified the authorities. Not just locked up or subject to treatment or given medication. They are giving opportunities to pursue individual interests and individual activities. Yesterday agents were at san jose airport checking surveillance video. An airport spokesman said they found what they were looking for but didnt give details. A taxi Company Released this video of him in a cab on his way to the airport sunday morning. Investigators cyathea used a cell phone to call the cab company and told them that his name was bill. A female driver picked him up and drove him 20 minutes to an area near the airport. He paid the driver 50 cash. Investigators say they found his jacket in a dumpster near where he was dropped off and found receipts showing he had mailed a package to andreas in stockton. More lawsuits are being filed against pg e in connection to the north bay wildfires. Attorneys representing people who lost their homes claim their Research Shows the disaster was caused by power lines coming in to contact with trees and brush. They say they went through call records of the weekend when it started and found Power Outages were reported. There were many calls and witnessed reports talking about equipment problems, transformer explosions, transformer fires, downed power lines, cut utility poles, arching power lines. Cal fire is not announced an official cause for the fires but the attorneys say they had to file the lawsuits in order to obtain information they say will show that pg e was negligent and is not being transparent about what happened. Two of the plaintiffs are former San Francisco mayor frank jordan and his wife. Their home was destroyed in the fire. Pg e released a statement. Angry people showed up at an Oakland City Hall meeting last night accusing the city of violating its sanctuary city policy. They were focused on a raid carried out in west oakland in august. Oakland police preformed Traffic Control duties while agents did the raid. The police chief said she agreed to have her Department Help because she was told it was part of a criminal investigation into human trafficking. Documents show that the man arrested was not connected to any crime and is only being held on charges of being in the country illegally. What people saw on the seen isnt matching up to people they talked too. They want to demand that oaklands status be respected. The Homeland Security spokesman said the august 16th operation was not a deportation raid and he said ice can deport suspects once they are in custody. Washington House Speaker paul ryan is once again urging roy moore of alabama to end his senate campaign. His comments come after a wave of Republican Leaders called on the alabama republican to withdraw because of allegations of sexual misconduct. He should step aside. Number one, these allegations are credible. If he cares about the values and the people he claims to care about then he should step aside. So far roy moore refuses to pull out of the senate race. Tesla is getting hit with another lawsuit accusing them of Racial Discrimination. Its the third lawsuit filed this year against them. I liked what i did i didnt like how i was treated. Reporter Marcus Vaughn was making 18 an hour at the fremont plant. The 25yearold said that it was over shadowed by an offensive racist environment where he and other African American co workers were called the n word. By me being called that i know it made me feel worthless basically and stressed me out a lot. Reporter he said he wrote a letter to hr and the ceo but nothing changed. Monday he filed a Class Action Lawsuit accusing the company of race based discrimination and failing to prevent discrimination and harassment. According to the lawsuit the ceoe mailed staff in may that said part of not being a huge jerk is considering how someone may feel who is part of a less represented group. Sometimes these things happen on accident in which case you should apologize. In fairness if someone is a jerk to you and apologizes its important to be thick skinned and accept that apology. Its not as he said in the email about having a thick skin or not. Its about the law and the law prohibits this kind of behavior. Reporter vaughn was fired in october after six months on the job and told he was let go for not having a positive attitude. This marks the third Racial Discrimination lawsuit filed against tesla this year. If this case moves forward as a class action the first person that its likely to be deposed is the ceo. The company said that vaughn was employed by a temp agency and was not fired but let go when his six month contract was up. It also said that his emailed complaints were about tesla shuttles and his commute with no mention of Racial Discrimination. Tesla said the lawyer who filed the lawsuit is a long track record ofextorting money former itless claims and said they would rather pay ten times the demand in legal fees than give into extortion. A lawsuit against uber claims thousands of female passengers have been raped, beaten or harassed while using the ride share. Two women with the lead plaintiffs. They are seeking class action status. They accuse uber of relying on low cost, inappropriate background checks. They say they were assaulted by uber driver who gave them rides home.
