Sheriffs deputies were called to a home early this morning in york county in South Carolina. When they arrived, they say the suspect, a man who assaulted a woman, took off. During the search for the suspect, he shot four officers. They were taken to the hospital. We do not have information on their conditions. Eventually the suspect was also shot and taken into custody. Thats where 13 children were found, some change to beds, and living in filthy conditions. A 17yearold girl escaped on sunday and called 911. Brothers and sisters locked in the house. They were all malnourished. Deputies say they were shocked to find seven were actually adults because they were so physically small. There were between 2and 29 years old. Investigators say the parents, David Allen Turpin and louise anna turpin, give no explanation as to why their children were held captive. Neighbors said they rarely saw the children. The couple has been booked on charges of felony torture and child endangerment. They are being held on 9 million bail. He was investigating a two car crash when a chevy trailblazer came by, hit the officers motorcycle and one of the cars in the earlier crash out of that car ended up on top of officer lendway. Two other approaching cars try to avoid the scene but collided with one another. A total of six cars were involved in that chainreaction crashs. Officer lendway was taken to the hospital with serious but nonlifethreatening injuries. The driver of the trailblazer, 52yearold, tammy walker, of was arrested was arrested on suspicion of dui. Police and chp are asking for help to find a man who stole a box truck and ended up driving the wrong way on a peninsula freeway to get away. The truck driver was making a delivery in San Francisco. When he came out, his truck was gone. The truck owner happened to be on highway 101 in south San Francisco, saw the truck heading south on the freeway near candlestick point. He called the chp.
