And 59 reported in San Francisco. Low 60s, oakland, livermore, san jose. You can see we have a little bit of a breeze there with the flag blowing. We are going to continue with this pattern. Then we begin to rebound as we get into the back end of the weekend. Heres a view of all of that cloud cover there this morning. In addition to the low clouds, we have high and midlevel clouds streaming across the area. If you get the opportunity for a little blue sky, the sunrise out there, the colors were really, really pretty. The onshore breeze. Fairfield. 15 miles per hour. Oakland reporting 13. Clouds are expected to clear out. Well go partly cloudy for the bay area. But notice over the north bay, it does take a while to clear. Here we are at 11 00, still there. Along the coastline, and then as we get into the early evening hours, right around sunset, those clouds will come back. If you notice behind me, a little moisture there. How is that traffic doing, allie . The traffic is bad because of the breaking news we have been telling you about this morning. The fire, the ware house fire at east 11th and 25th. Its several miles away from the coliseum. But you can see, traffic is slowing down as drivers closer to that fire may be slowing down taking a look at the smoke coming from it. And this is hagen berger road. Its slow going all the way past that fire, east 11th and 25th. Lets show you another area, where we are tracking a problem. Right here, it looks pretty open. And thats because there is a backup before the toll plaza. A sixvehicle crash. One person is injured. Its going to take a while for that to get out of the way. But that backup is beyond this picture. You can see the traffic here at san mateo bridge in this view, traffic is moving smoothly. Heres the bay bridge toll plaza. Things here look pretty light. 7 04. Lets go back to the desk. Okay, allie. Thank you. Music festival starts at noon today at golden gate park. Runs for three days. 210,000 people are expected to be out there. Now, after the recent Mass Shootings, security will be very title. In fact, there will be a Second Security fence around the perimeter. Festival organizers had been working out detailed evacuation plans, too, and other security measures as a precaution. And we want the public to know that we stand prepared with a security plan to address what we know are fears that some of the people who plan to attend this concert might have. Now, you can bring in clear backpacks, small bags, fanny packs and purses. And for the first time, the city will allow the sale of cannabis at the festival. If youre a festival goer, be advised, take muni or ride goers cut down on traffic jam. And b. A. R. T. Is getting ready for the weekend. The giants, 49ers, raiders all have home games. B. A. R. T. Says it will not singletrack any lines this weekend, to prepare for more riders. B. A. R. T. Will also deploy longer train during noncommute times today and throughout most of tomorrow. And also starting today, the san jose jazz festival. The summer festival will start. The threeday event will be the first test of the Police Departments new Guardian Program, responding to a possible active shooter. The San Jose Police chief says its a recent response in gilroy and dayton. Two officers will be placed in schools specially trained to respond to an active shooter. The police chief said he wanted this program to start before the beginning of the new school year. There is no longer a shelterinplace at san jose university. But thats after the arrest of a man suspected of bringing a gun onto campus. The campus was locked down just after 6 00 last night. As police searched and later found the man who was captured hiding in the ventilation system. The search started after someone familiar with the suspect said they saw him in the area with a gun inside the backpack. When Police Spotted him, they say he ran and hid in the spartan complex. Students were warned by text messages, warning them to shelter in place. A perimeter was put in place almost immediately. And the whole place was put into lockdown. And everybody was in a place where they could be safe. And as soon as we found out that there were people within the building, we got them out. Reporter police say the suspect was hiding in a ventilation system on the third floor of a University Building when he came down and was apprehended. Officers say they found a gun in the area. The suspect is not a student at san jose state. But the investigation continues. Time now, 7 07. One of the three young people shot and killed at the gilroy garlic festival, 12 days ago, has been laid to rest. Family and friends said goodbye to 25yearold trevor irvee irby. His mom carried a photo of her son. Irbys father was by her side. Irby was living in santa cruz. He went to the garlic festival with his girlfriend. And there are new Court Documents showing that the gilroy shooter had an interest in violent ideologies. Investigators say he a clown mask, a wilderness survival guide, a passport, and bottle rockets inside of his car. Authorities still dont know a motive. The fbi is treating th mestic terrorism. Time is 7 08. The San Jose Sharks and their affiliate, the san jose barracuda, plan to help victims and families affected by the gilroy mass shooting, and also honor first responders. The Sharks Foundation will make a 10,000 donation to Silicon Valley community foundation. And theyre going to hold a heroes appreciation night, january 27th, when they play the anaheim ducks. The barracuda will donate proceeds from a warmup jersey auction. And theyre going to offer free and discounted game tickets to residents of gilroy for their game on december 14th. In dayton, ohio, authorities have released 911 calls, revealing some of the horrific moments just after gunfire erupted last weekend. Did you see what the person looked like . No. There were shots and everybody laid down. Okay. We have help on the way, okay . Nine people were killed in less than a minute in that Downtown Entertainment area early sunday morning. The gunman was shot and killed by police before many of those 911 calls were placed. There were also shocking new developments in the attack in el paso that left 22 people dead. The motor of the suspected gunman said she called police, weeks earlier, to ask for information about the gun he had purchased. Her lawyer said she contacted the allen Police Department, where the family lives near dallas, because she was concerned about whether he was mature enough to have the weapon. Time now, 7 09. Theres now a report that bayer, the Parent Company that owns monsanto, offered to pay up to 8 million to settle lawsuits related to the weed killer roundup. According to bloomberg, lawyers for bayer want a settlement to resolve all current and future casings. The bayer roundup is part of its 63 billion takeover of monsanto last year. Bayer lost all three of the first three trials held here in california, where the juries found that monsanto should have warned of the alleged cancer risks from roundup. The plaintiffs in those cases were awarded damages, ranging from 25 million to 86 million. The jury in the ghost ship fire trial is home again with deliberations set to resume monday morning. The nine women and three men, determining the fate of Co Defendants derek almena and max harris, have now deliberated for five days without reaching a verdict. We wanted to know it that means anything. So we asked retired judge Larry Goodman who served for more than 30 years. He says there is no way of telling how a jury is leaning. You can get violatey verdicts in guilty verdicts in two hours or not guilty verdicts in two hours. You can have a jury harsh over things for two to three weeks. He says the jury is likely taking their time in reviewing all of the evidence in what is considered a highstakes case. Grass fires are still battling. It started yesterday afternoon on soto bay road, near clear lake. An evacuation shelter is set up for Kelseyville High School for people in the riviera west. 19 have burned. Last time we checked, it was only 30 contained. Cal fire says 40 homes and buildings are in danger. The campfire has claimed another life. The man who had been in the hospital since the paradise fire has died. The butte Sheriffs Department said 72yearold paul ernest died from complications he received from the burns in the fire. His death raises the number of People Killed to 86. That campfire is the deadliest wildfire in california history. Coming up, a man who was detained three months by immigration agents, would tell his story during a vigil in San Francisco, outside of i. C. E. Offices. Supporters of Armando Escobar lopez said Daly City Police pulled him over in may. And during that traffic stop, they turned him over to i. C. E. His supporters say that violates sanctuary law. Immigration and custom enforce enforcement says nearly half of the workers are detained in a massive sting. The raids happened wednesday in seven factory across the state. I. C. E. Said agents surrounded the perimeters of the plants to keep workers from leaving. 680 undocumented workers were taken into custody. 300 have since been released and are awaiting court hearings. Local communities are rallying around the children, who are pleading for the return of their children. We are not doing nothing bad. Theyre immigrants. [ crying ] just get our dads out of there. My dad didnt do nothing. Hes not a criminal. I. C. E. Said it tried to ensure that children were not left to fend for themselves. And that the 300 people who were released were for, quote, humanitarian factors, and they wait for deportation hearings. Its estimated that at least 40,000 people are now on waiting lists in Mexican Border cities to claim asylum in the u. S. 10,000 are in tijuana alone, which is struggling to house and feed these immigrants. Many of them are fleeing from Gang Violence and poverty in central america. In june, mexico agreed to help the Trump Administration with the new policy that requireses Asylum Seekers to wait in mexico as their applications are processed. A family in san jose hopes you will see some shocking Surveillance Video of a burglar in their house. And that it will lead to his arrest. And all of it happened while they were still at home. No, i did not hear anything. I did not see anything. Now, what were talking about happened wednesday morning on east san fernando street near the downtown area. Ed cruz was doing some yard work. His wife was in the shower when a man went in and out of their home for about eight minutes, he was inside. When mr. Cruz found food inside, he realized, somebody else had been there. The couples soninlaw checked video from several cameras installed at their home. You can see the man creeping around inside. He comes in. And is rummaging through things. Ends up stealing the jewelry box. And the whole time, shes in here showering. Shes just come back from the philippines so she had stuff out. A lot of it was stuff she got from her mother. Sentimental value. Things you just cant replace. For families who alerted neighbors on their next of door app. They shared even more video of this suspected thief minutes later. Take a look. They believe hes a homeless man. He appeared to be intoxicated. They dont know. The family has now installeddine more security cameras and a new alarm system. Very scary. To see that. 7 19. Lets check in with allie, who is in for sal. 880 is still a problem spot. You mentioned there is that warehouse fire burning at east 11th and 25th street. That is slowing down traffic in that part of oakland. Several at 880. You can see the backup there, in this traffic camera, in the northbound directions. And this is sluggish liesh this all the way through to downtown oakland, past that fire. I want to show you a map of the area, so you can see what were talking about. Backup extends in the south direction, close to san leandro. So it is getting heavier as the morning goes on. And the smoke still visible from that fire. Sal is there. The other big problem were following, westbound 92, east of the toll plaza. There was a sixvehicle crash there. All lanes except the right lane remain blocked. Then a short time later, there was another crash at hes perrian boulevard. A crash in the backup from that earlier sixvehicle crash. Once you get onto the san mateo bridge, things here look pretty good. Also, a bright spot in the morning commute through lafayette.
