Officers say they responded to a shooting at 11 15 last night. A man with a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital and later died. Police have no information yet on any possible suspects or motive. Also new this morning, firefighters are investigating a twoalarm house fire in south san jose. It started after midnight at the corner of pine land avenue and safari drive. No one was home at the time but took firefighters 30 minutes to get that fire under control. No injuries are reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. By a narrow vote the board of San Franciscos muny approved naming the chinatown subway system after rose pack. Hundreds of people turned out to speak out and hear the vote results. Others watched the meeting from an overflow room. At issue is whether the train station should be named after the late rose pack, a controversial and powerful china town activist. A judge agreed he should remain in custody. Officer andre muay was carried and led by a procession of chp officers on motorcycles. Muay was remembered professionally as a hard worker and high performing motorcycle officer and as someone who was honest, kind and always greeted people with a smile. His family says being a motorcycle officer was his dream job. He is survived by his wife of six years and parents, brothers and sisters. The new jury in oaklands ghost ship warehouse trial finished the first day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The Peninsula Humane Society says the hawk flew through the window and became stranded in a bedroom. Firefighters came in and rescued the hawk and realizing it wasnt hurts they later released it.
