Sources tell me the mass shooting may be the result of an ongoing feud between rival groups. One from San Francisco and one from marin city. The same groups showed up at the same party and that is when the guns everybody fooled everybody and then all broke loose. Reporter ktvu has learned of a possible motive in the massacre. There was a fight between two groups, one from San Francisco and the other from marin city. On halloween night people from both groups were at the party. That is when the dispute reignited. Many people in the crowd pulled out the guns in the kitchen area and opened fire. There is music playing and all you hear is gunshots going on. One man escaped after hearing 20 gunshots. I was talking to a girl and then surviving. You have to watch your surroundings and run away from what you are hearing. One of the five People Killed is the brother of lee farley who has been charged in a quadruple homicide in San Francisco. Another victim of the shooting, ramon hill junior was a known gang member. He had an assault conviction and has been facing weapons charges after being excused in a 2016 driveby shooting in San Francisco. The das office and the fbi are among the many agencies working with orinda police. None of those agencies officially talking about the investigation. There are six candidates on the ballot for San Francisco mayor. The incumbent is hoping to win her first full term since being elected to fill the rest of the term of late mayor ed lee. Also on the ballot are william peng and robert jordan. Voters will also be deciding on proposition c. It seeks to overturn the citywide ban on the sale of vaping products. Early in october ecigarette maker juul dropped its support for this measure. A no vote would allow the ban to go into effect on january 1. Voters in San Francisco have been heading to the polls all day. It is an off year elected so turnout is expected to be low. Christian captain is live with a look at how the voting is going so far. At this point they are estimating that voter turnout so far, the votes that were delivered is about 16 and they are projecting 65 or a mayoral election. They are in the process of processing those ballots right now using optical scanners. The new system is more accurate and has the added bonus of being more transparent. It will wipe any personal data off the photos and then post them online everyone can see results. As for the races, mayor breed is favored to win. They are estimating that voter turnout could be as high as 50 55 . The other big race, District Attorney suzy loftus is the interim da. A move that has been somewhat controversial. There are three other challengers. Boudin, lee, and nancy chung. The last poll had as many as 40 undecided in that race. We will watch that race very closely. Voters also deciding on Affordable Housing bonds as well as proposition c mac. And the fda. These are some of the issues and races that we will be keeping our eye on here in San Francisco. They are saying it will be a while before they can count all those votes and certify the election in San Francisco. I spoke with the director of elections and he is expecting the election in San Francisco must be certified before december 5 so we will have a final answer on all of these races well before then.
