All of this comes as President Trump signed an executive order that cracked it down and limited Legal Protection for social media companies. They choose to fact check, and what they choose to ignore or promote is nothing more than a political activism group. However, legal experts point out that without congressional action, there are limits to what President Trump wants to do. We have not heard about arrests made here, the lapd says they want every effort to handle protests peacefully. This was columbus ohio, demonstrators marched through the streets protesting the death of george floyd. The rally was mainly peaceful until some of the marchers had smashed windows at a storefront in damaged the ohio state building. Pepper spray was used to break up the crowd and several people were arrested. In denver, colorado, a protest near the state capital, several people ran for cover. Later in the day there are reports of vandalism, including car windows being smashed. We have shocking video, look at this confrontation between a driver and a protester. Not once, but twice, a car hit a demonstrator. Other protesters had angrily chased after the car, after it sped away. The demonstrator who was hit did not appear to be seriously hurt. The Sonoma County sheriff says in june he will stop enforcing the counties shelter in place order. He says that he can no longer in good conscience follow the order. He is siding with people and businesses in the area everything the lockdown is more restrictive than what the state requires. The police chief in santa rosa says his department will continue enforcement within the city. Further up north, authorities are once again closing dining restaurants and stores. The county had just reported five new coronavirus cases, there were no cases, recently, and now they are allowing more businesses to reopen. Governor newsom is going to release guidelines for how schools can open this fall. The chronicle reports that it will include the installation of hand sanitizers, handwashing stations, class sizes, 6 feet of separation at all times, and staggered student arrival times. The School Districts are worried that to the new rules will be too expensive to implement. Education coalitions went to sacramento urging state lawmakers to adopt a vending solution to the coronavirus budget crisis. Schools and colleges cannot reopen safely if the cuts are given in the manner that they are stated. The revised budget says a 10 percent cut across the board we cannot afford to do that. When we say that we need to have it safer for students, and staff, that will not make it happen. The proposed budget would impose billions of dollars of cuts to grade schools and community colleges, only if the federal government does not send the state more money by july 1. Louisville, kentucky, one person was critically injured after several people were shot last night during a protest, demanding justice for Breanna Taylor. An africanamerican woman that was shot and killed by police back in march. Look at this, seven people were shot last night. The suspects are in custody according to police, and the police say that none of the officers fired guns. Earlier this month, the family of Breanna Taylor sued the Police Department, she was an emergency medical technician that was only 26 years old, killed in her home by narcotics officers that were conducting a search. No drugs were found. The protesters were also protesting on behalf of george floyd, and other victims of police brutality. A soldier credited with preventing a mass shooting on a bridge, connecting kansas and missouri. Police say the soldier was driving a car behind a car of a suspect on wednesday, when the man got out of the car, and started randomly shooting at people along the bridge. The soldier immediately rammed the suspects car, and ended the shooting. The soldier and the suspect were the only people who were hurt. Both are listed in serious condition. California regulators approve a plan that would clear one of pg es final hurdles to emerge from bankruptcy. They voted unanimously in favor of utilities 58 billion reorganization plan yesterday. Pg e is under a june 30 deadline to win approval from a federal bankruptcy judge. They filed for bankruptcy after being tied to several of the disastrous wildfires hearing california.
