We had this as breaking news yesterday at noon. The suspect was waving a gun in the Morning Hours when he went to wss shoes next to the market on high street in east oakland. That was around 11 00 15. Two employees inside the shoe store. One mentioned to escape and the other was held hostage. Three hours in the negotiations the suspect released the hostage, a few hours later he surrendered to police. Police say at one point the map fired a gun six times and no one hurt. The man initially ran in the store after police tried to arrest him in connection with a double homicide that happened last week. Across the bay, we have new details on the Early Morning police chase in San Francisco involving a stolen u haul. This was not the first time Authorities Say that the man had run from police. Last year the suspect identified as 26yearold vince azamma ran on to interstate 280 where he was hit by a car. After midnight yesterday an officer tried to stop the stolen u haul van for not yielding to a pedestrian. Thats when the chase started. Police say that the suspect took off from chp and spd officers. They say he eventually crashed before jumping in the bay. Two officers managed to pull him out of the water but police say he later died at the hospital.
