Kumail Nanjiani is taking on a new project. The 43-year-old Immigrant, per Find out more about his new role inside… The show will focus on the origin story of the stripper troupe Chippendales and the its creator, Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian American entrepreneur. Immigrant will recount the darkly comic, crime-ridden story behind the cultural phenomenon. Somen was charged with plotting to kill a number of Chippendales producers, dancers and choreographers in the early 1990s and eventually pleaded to arson, racketeering and murder for hire.
